trade route, wall, bonuses
first of all, great map. i look forward to playing it, both for its gameplay and its historical realism.
--the trade route seems gratuitous to me. in the original game there were similar bottle necks between areas--europe-africa to asia-australia to the americas--and i think it enhanced gameplay rather than hindered it. i say leave the bottleneck in.
--the wall looks good to me, though slightly blurry. but pretty much good as is.
--it's unclear to me why the yellow and orange regions have lower bonuses than the green. they all have the same number of territories, right? i guess the orange only borders two other regions (ignoring the trade route), but the yellow borders three just like the green, and more sizeable ones at that. and they're both peripheral and central at the same time. can you help me out?

The trade route was widely discussed at the time, and the general opinion seems to be that the bottleneck would make areas too easy to hold. I think it ought to stay unless significant objection arises again.
As for the bonuses, the problem with green is that it is more likely to be used to attack and break other continents, more so than yellow and orange, and so will naturally be harder to hold. Also, green has an extra border, the trade route (which you may have forgotten), used to attack right accross the map. It is a more valuable continent and gives more attack options.
Thanks again for the comments.

I'd go with either the current wall or the one before it. I like them both.
Guiscard, I've noticed (at least in my eyes) that a few of the country divison lines are a little more pixely and jagged than others. Perhaps go through and soften them each slightly.
Hm, also, maybe make the Trade Route circles stand out a little more. Perhaps a little darker, and maybe increase the font size for the name, but both are minor things.
Lastly, I haven't noticed until now...sometimes the 'I's in the country names blend together with other letters. Is it Crimera? The I and the M are a little deceiving. Perhaps if possible, add a little space there...and maybe in other places where there are some I's.

Thanks for the comments Andy, I'll take a look at them soon as possible.
As for this comment... yeh I see what you mean. The legend was something I did very early on and hasn't really been looked at. Maybe I'll try out a few different options which are more in keeping with the map as a whole. Do other people agree about the legend?

I tried many pictures in the background of Japan, but it is so thin that you cannot make anything out clearly. It just made the land look muddy and wrongly textured.

Were there other options?
i like that the desert is there to make a boundary, although the texture of the desert and its coloring seem a little off to me. i definitely think it should stay as a dividing feature, though tinkering with its appearance might help a bit.

Real life is getting in the way I'm afraid. Have a bit more free time in the next month, though, so I'll be getting back up to speed soon. Don't despair.
Thanks for all the support guys.
