I am still waiting patiently for the long promised Intellivision III by Mattel. I know they aren't going to let me down. *crosses fingers and holds breath*
I would have to say that nintendo is trying to apeal to a different audience than sony and microsoft mostly because their gamecube just couldn't compete with the ps2 and xbox.
even though i like Sony better, i think that the xbox 360 will be the ps2 of the next generation...i hope i am wrong.

Yeah, it caters for people like me, who are at best 'special' on most games on normal consoles. So for that I'd pick the Wii
I picked the Wii, for it's low price tag, awesome gameplay, and the big name games. PS3 is a waste of $500-$600, (US) because the Blu-ray is too easily damaged for 14-18 year old boys to take good care of. On the other hand, if you're a movie buff, a PS3 is the world's cheapest Blu-ray player

everythings great once, why do you think they let you play stuff in stores

Tried it at my friends. Played den for speed most wanted for some 13 hours straight. Of course I was 'altered' but still.
I was going to get a PS3 for my birthday this year. They will retail for around NZ$1,195 when sales launch next week.
I've decided against that. Instead, I'm going to buy a Killer Instinct 25" cabinet for $1,300. I'm paying it off on lay-away so I will be able to afford it. It might take me a couple of months to pay it off, but I haven't played this game in over 10 years... I can wait a couple months longer lol

I still have a working PSX, A working PS2. All my freinds have there working PSX'S And PS2's, And I still go over to my other friends to play Tony Hawk 1, Gran Turismo 1 and MGS. I think what you mean to say is you like buying for quality and then destroying said quality before you can even appreciate it. I bought my PS1 like 8 years ago and I'm still playing it and having fun. If you bought a computer for the price of a PS3 you'de get less than a year of top end performace.
Religion and science both profess peace (and the sincerity of the professors is not being doubted), but each always turns out to have a dominant part in any war that is going or contemplated.

My friend had several PS3s and broke all 3 of them. Anything will last 8 years if you take care of it. People don't want to have to worry about taking care of something though, they just want to slam the game in the drive and play.

The fact that a PS3 is the price of a computer is a huge turn off. I don't want a game system that can "do it all" because I already have a laptop. Just gimme the cheapest system with the best games. Graphics don't mean squat if the game is fun and the system is quality.
