2) Krissan - anonymus
3) hagardunor - Pedrox
4) Chewie1 - denominator

Thanks.

All games are now complete for this round. It was a foot race to the mat with less than 3 hours difference between the last two games.

Congratulations to bam-bam and sokar90 for reaching the mat first, you are team number 1.

theheadholes and pittsburgh00 are the last team to arrive, I'm sorry to tell you, you have been eliminated from the race.

Shortly, I will send a PM to everyone the details on next leg which is the Detour. Once everyone has responded to that I will get the new set of games set up and sent out.

Re: Nikita's Amazing Race [FULL] DETOUR!

Post by Nikita42 »

PM sent.

Nikita42 wrote:At this leg of the race you have encountered a Detour which forces the remaining teams to chose between two different tasks.

Big Map or Little Map

In Big Map, you will be required to play a standard game on World 2.1 against the other players who chose the same map.

In Little Map, you will be required to play a standard game on the Classic map against the other players who chose the same map.

Additional details about the settings and gameplay are on the first post of the tournament thread viewtopic.php?t=129324.

I require one member of each team to reply to this PM with your choice of Detour. If both team members happen to reply, I will accept the response of the first person only. If neither member replies within 48 hours, I will pick a map at random.

Re: Nikita's Amazing Race [FULL] DETOUR!

Post by Nikita42 »

OK Choice of Detour options came back as:

Big Map
Juan-Bottom and ericleung
Revlisd and NickJP
jelion and dogbert21*
Krissan and anonymus*

Little Map
Nicky15 and angola
Nemrehs1 and calidrmr
Chewie1 and denominator
DukeHazzard and notyou2
Sokar90 and bam-bam
hagardunor and Pedrox*

*Didn't reply to my PM in time and were randomly assigned a map.

What that means is Big Map will have 2 4 player games on World 2.1 and Little Map will have 2 6 player games on Classic. The person who wins their game also earns a Round bonus for the next leg of the race. (Teams can only win one round bonus)

I will set up games and send out invites shortly, please join within 48 hours.

One person has yet to join, I've resent the invite. If he fails to join again, I'll recreate the game with one player less. So that the remaining players can still try and earn their bonus.

2 of the 4 games for the detour are still running. They look to be nearing the end so hopefully within a week or two we can get onto the next round.

I've updated the first page with the games that have completed, so far angola and Dukehazzard have earned a credit for their Rounds for the next game.

I didn't expect this since it's escalating cards, but Game 8120215 is beginning to look like it might turn into a stalemate. I didn't put into any rules stalemate conditions, but I might have to. It's still early yet only Round 18, so I'll let the game play out longer, but if the game continues this way, I might have to make a stalemate contingency.

This game is looking less like a stalemate now and hopefully finishes up soon. I will still put a cap on the game. The players have until Round 35 (10 more rounds) to finish. If there is no winner by that time, the player with the highest strength from BOB will be declared the victor.

LOL. You figured out my true reasons for posting in the game chat. ;)

I really would rather a game play out to decide the winner than have stalemate conditions. I've played a few tournaments where the stalemate conditions declared a winner that was different from the true winner when the game actually ended.

Nice, I'd love to see that on the TV show!

There is still one game playing, once it's complete we will move onto the next round.

Leg 5 of the race is done. Jelion and dogbert, you are the first team to arrive. Chewie and denominator, you are the last team to arrive...I'm happy to tell you this is the first of two predetermined non-elimination rounds. You will have a second chance at staying in the race.

I am working on creating games for round 5b and invites will be sent out shortly. These games will be identical to the previous round's games.
