Me too, as always. I would be really nice to have this implemented so I can play AA games and not get screwed when I'm winning by someone forgetting it's AA

Re: Adjacent Attacks [Submitted Suggestion]
Sure would be nice if they created a schedule for implementation so that we would know roughly when things would be implemented. At least then we would know fairly certainly that it's going to be another 3-4 years before we see AA implemented

Re: Adjacent Attacks [Submitted Suggestion]
I am even considering implementing it myself when Research and Conquer finally gets finished. Don't know if that's a possibility, but I would certainly be open to it.

I would suspect that the only way to implement it yourself would be to create a GM script like yeti_c was going to do a while ago.

That would not work

Re: Adjacent Attacks [Submitted Suggestion]
5 months away from celebrating the 3rth anniversary of the submission of the Adjacent Attacks idea. Can someone review this suggestion?
You know, not that you care of course, but I'm not sure if I'm going to renew my premium account (wich expires in may too), but if AA gets implemented I'll feel like CC still has a lot to offer me this 2011 (other than new maps of course).
Oh and a potential leaving includes another 2 PM ([player]vapo[/player] & [player]vanbastator[/player], a couple of old friends).

Re: Adjacent Attacks [Submitted Suggestion]
Unfortunately it's been reviewed as much as it's going to get
At this point, from what I understand, it's all up to Lack to point at this suggestion and say 'Do this one'.
I frankly don't get what the web developer has been doing over the last several months since he was hired. Maybe I don't appreciate how difficult some stuff is, but it seems like very little has gotten done since he was hired. The only appreciable gameplay change I can think of that's happened since was Losing Conditions, for which I am quite grateful for, but it's still only one addition in several months.

I have no doubt that Lack himself is really busy. I can only imagine how bogged down he gets in the overhead of running a site like this. My understanding is that that is the exact reason he hired a web developer to get the updates to the site going again. It's not how busy lack is that concerns me, is how busy (or lack there of) that the web developer is. There are so many great suggestions that are sitting around gathering dust, many of which from a code perspective should be relatively simple to implement.
I'm not necessarily referring to this AA suggestion, but there some stuff like Decay to Neutral, fog of war spies, and having regions autodeploy on other specified regions that really should not be complicated to implement, yet have been sitting in the to-do list for more than 3 years. Stuff like decay to neutral should be incredibly simple to implement. Perhaps I just don't understand some sort of complexity with the implementation, but to me it should be nearly a copy and paste of the current negative autodeploy code with the if statement for it hitting 0 or less changed to making it a neutral 1 instead of a 1 for the current owner. Change the XML tag name and away you go. Now I realize there's probably more to it than that, but really, this should be something that could be done by someone who knows what they're doing in less than half a day.

If you would notice, we don't have a web developer. The 2 lack tried left.

Ahh, that would explain a lot then. I didn't even realize that lack had tried 2 of them, I was only aware of the one from several months ago that was announced.

Yes, I believe you are referring to newtonboy. He quit after about a month, then we went to sw0rdf1sh. Same thing.

No, they wouldn't commit the time or duration to the projects that lack had going, plus from my knowledge, they had other projects going as well, aside from CC

Maybe you should look for the web programmer in the job market instead of within the user base?

I believe that's what they were doing. I wonder if looking for one within the user base wouldn't work better since they would have more incentive to get things done.

I hope it works out. It would be really nice to see regular gameplay updates to the site again.

Re: Adjacent Attacks [Submitted Suggestion]
According to the light review from Play Risk Online our beloved Conquer Club lacks Major Command's vitality
. I, for one, partially agree, specially when it comes to updates-related topics like this.
I do understand how hard it is to keep a site like this but you have a lot of people paying for a good service...

Again, I pointed out, lack is extremely busy right now. If he had the time to look for a Web Developer, he would, but he has a lot of personal reasons to be away from CC right now.

i play at Major Command as well & they have really beautiful maps with clickies standard,
but not many of them
they take forever to load on my tiny download speed
i can not foe someone who pisses me off
they don't have many players
the forum is close to dead
tournaments are few and far between
yes, vitality is important
