Been (very idly) working on this for a few weeks, and Jota just prodded me to post it here. It's mostly based upon actual phrenology guides, but with plenty of changes.
THIS IS JUST A SCHEMATIC. There's no real point in prettying things up until the continent-balancing gets fixed, so until then you'll have to put up with the slapdash illustration.
More like the Victorian Quack Brain. I think that around then women were thought to have only three brain areas: 'Obedience', 'Embroidery / Kittens', and 'Unnatural Lusts'.
I think this is a cool concept. Also, maga's the guy who did the cool little drawings on the Discworld map, so you know it'll probably look pretty nice when he's all done.
Long ago I suggested a brain map, and this one has some potential. This map could become one of the "Misc" niche maps, similar to Crossword and a few others that are being developed. I am not sure how many of these maps can really coexist, but who knows. Perhaps I'll be back to comment later.
I think this map looks awesome, even with the current art. I like the idea of astract continents without them being as complex as the London Underground map or the Space map I've seen around here.
I believe that he's presently in the middle of an extended cross-continent migration which has left him without convenient Internet access for a little while.
Maybe you could put in some brain damage as uncrossable borders
that would b really funny.
Do you need an excuse to have a war? I mean, who for? Can't you just say "You got lots of cash and land, but I've got a big sword, so divy up right now, chop chop."
Terry Pratchet
I think "Perceptive" needs to drop to a value of three, as it only has three chokes, but other than that, the values are good - and simple. All continents are valued at the number of chokes they contain. You might break self-perfecting up a bit more. The two effective sides are slightly unbalanced in value, but that may make for better playability. Needs a bit better graphics, and you need a font style that will stand out in all colors, and maybe some name readjustment so there aren't so many names broken into two pieces. But other than that, I like it! It's clean, simple, and easy to play. Looking forward to playing the finished product!
