Re: The CUBE
I just downloaded it. I think I'll fiddle around with it and let you know if I can get a sufficient cube.

kind of swamped right now with 4 internet projects...
Re: The CUBE
i have no idea what i'm doing, but just screwing around i could see potential for some kick-ass 3D. i'm excited to see what someone with a clue can do with this!!

Re: The CUBE
you guys talked me into downloading this.. and for the last 4 hrs ive been playing with it and adding plug-ins. I may not ever use it like It can be used but Im smart enough to know this- Someone in CC will come along that can use this software and completely redo mapmaking and raise the bar even higher..
This sketchup is AMAZING. Im rendering normal photos to make them more 3dish atm... It is amazing.

Re: The CUBE
my first reaction was "I'm with Blitz here, reminds me a lot of Conquer 4." however as I look at it I'm interested in some of the various aspects. Its still like Conquer 4 but kind of a conquer 4 on steroids. The naming of territories is off in the current version as they're duplicated from what I can see.

Re: The CUBE
I think the main thing is this...
It will begin a new dimension (literally) in map making in CC...
Eventually a lot of maps coming through may be 3d... seems inevitable to me.

Each layer of the cube is numbered with Roman numerals (I, II, III, IV) and on each layer you have sixteen spheres each with letters a, b, c, and d in one dimension and Arabic numerals 1, 2, 3, and 4 in the other. So, a Roman numeral. a letter, and an Arabic number uniquely pinpoint each sphere.

It has to make it to Final Forge first, and it seems that no one has been wowed by the graphics yet.
Re: The CUBE
I like it. if only because it reminds me of the Cube Series of movies.

Re: The CUBE
I asked around a bit some opinions on this map and ,among all the answers, I can't find a single PM that will encourage the development of a real 3D cube.
So, after re-reading all the pages of this thread, I have come to the conclusion that the concerns ,I personally have on this map, should have been addressed much earlier during the development and ,perhaps in due course, I shouldn't move so quickly the map into the gameplay workshop before giving to it a look (and not checking only if it had already received the draft stamp) , when I put it again into the foundry system...
But i can't blame the maker for this, I can't ask him about having to go back into the development process for a my lightness. So like we said in Italy: "Mea culpa"
In any case I still think that maybe there's a bit a lack of a "real hook" but to solve this I wouldn't recommend you to develope something 3D, it doesn't seem a real solution.
Moreover the replies i received leave me think that, althought this is certainly a niche map, it has its followers...
So, even if for someone it will be a strange move, RedBaron0 and myself have decided to change this thread to sticky.
Any other suggestions to improve the map?

I believe when a map topic is stickied, the intention is to draw final comments before moving the map to the next stage.

Also try to increase the spacing between letters in the lower text on the small version, it helps to make the text more readable.

Re: The CUBE
1) I was hoping someone would volunteer and help me out with making a 3D version of the rods and orbs in Google Sketch. Since I don't have the energy to do it myself and I'm overwhelmed by a winter depression and a bunch of real life commitments, I have to put it on hold for a while.
2) I like the "Kill!!!" and I don't see any reason why it should go. It's funny. It's also my trademark. Those that play with me knows.

See, but Google sketch is still gonna give you a pseudo 3D object on a 2D plane, same as what you have. I don't see why anything needs changed, paulk.
