But Peter they changed the rules! Rules are rules and rules must not be broked. Only a f*ck would do that. You're not a f*ck, are you Pete?

Maybe they accidentally sent their requests to the dept. of bad-assery, not bas-assery

Well they'd have been awfully silly to do so. I specifically said bas-assery!

This will be very exciting. If THOTA wins, nobody can really question their supremacy anymore at this time (which has seemed to be waning with recent near loss to NEM). If KoRT wins, they will have established themselves as the alpha cows. Big stakes for both clans.

I predict KoRT wins 33-27. Good luck to both clans.

I wish this was the case - it'd certainly make the finals much more exciting. As it is now -- Yawn.

Not that I'm a big poster and not that anyone cares, but good luck to both clans. Personally, however, I hope that THOTA will win.

Prediction: 36 v 24

Yes much respect to chipv for refusing to play for such reasons.

Based on the current games for KORT vs TOFU no one will view KORT as #1 if they manage to beat THOTA, as TOFU will have won more games if not for the simple mistake of COF joining 21 games and that resulting in 21 forfeits.

Yes, unfortunately that's going to be the upshot. If THOTA win (and believe me I'm sure it's going to be very close as they are two very capable outfits and we, TOFU, only look like passing the 30 game mark by 1 or 2 games) then it will at least still dangle the carrot of a TOFU-THOTA challenge one day - something I've always longed for. If KORT win however.....well, people have their own opinions on that one. It would beg the question "Does it make TOFU more capable than THOTA as they were able to take more games against KORT?"

And yes, kudos to chipv and to a few others in KORT who took the time to write and apologise for the way things went. They're not all a bad bunch by any means.

It'll be quite nice to spend my Christmas sitting back, getting merry, and watching someone else do all the fighting for a change. Any frustration was countered by relief I guess.

Good luck to the good people, that's my wish.

Fear not, Si, I don't think I'll be able to rock my whole "and then Alexander wept, for there were no more worlds to conquer" thing with an in-pretty-much-all-eyes-that-matter undefeated TOFU still lurking about. ;)

indeedily.

3 spots left in that assassin game (2 kort, 1 thota).

lol @ farang's comment - after all this time there are still 'big stakes' for us? we're gonna have to lose eventually, you know. i trust you'll be there to jump all over it when it happens, but really, haven't we done enough as a clan already?

I guess 4 years of winning against top clans year after year is not enough to some people, today the kids look at "what have you done lately"?, as opposed to the big picture. Although the avid historians of CC know the truth and will always paint Thota in the proper perspective.

I'd like to introduce a new fundamental law into the books.

This will be a corollary to Godwin's law stating that "As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1."

I propose the following law, hereby know as Knight's law:

"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of THOTA boasting about how great they are approaches 1"

That is all for now.

I'd like to introduce a further corollary to Knight's Law, namely:

"As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of THOTA bashing in either covert or overt form approaches 1. This statement holds especially true when members of THOTA attempt to deflect any unwarranted criticism, ripose any unmitigating envy, or indeed, have the temerity to answer back to any form of negativity directed towards the clan."

I dunno, I've seen some pretty long threads in SIB/Bumpage and I think you could easily replace [THOTA] with [mod]. Not that it's unwarranted. Good use of "temerity" though.
