Duplicated Greasemonkey Scripts

Post by TaCktiX »

I run BOB, Watch This Game, and Map Rank GL. For the past couple of weeks they have been double-loading when I log onto CC. As in, at the My Games menu and in games themselves, I get 2 WTG Menu's, 2 BOB Menu's, and 2 Map Rank GL's on the left sidebar, 2 Watched tabs in the My Games, and oftentimes I have to confirm my BOB-related actions twice when playing games (ending assaults/reinforcements). Other than updating to the most recent version of Firefox, I've installed nothing new. Any ideas what's causing the doubleload?

No, no idea. Remydog talked about a similar issue in the BOB-thread. But because it seems to happen to all scripts, it's probably related to greasemonkey itself. But I have no clue what's really going wrong, except the obvious (firing all scripts twice).

I run BOB (5.1.2) and Map Rank GL (1.5.2), but not Watch This Game, and I do not have this problem. (I use Firefox, not Google Chrome.) Could Watch This Game be the culprit?

Not it could not be ;).

No script can load twice unless you have them installed twice. And this might be a problem with the Firefox or GreaseMonkey itself.

I have the same crap going on :( With BoB, Clickies, WTG and Floating Chat. I uninstalled all the scripts and Greasemonkey, installed them all again but it didn't help. Any ideas what else could be tried?

This is likely something to do with AVG

To be more precise, AVG has the habit of installing an extension or plugin in firefox, and that extension has some side effect. It looks like version 10 of AVG came out recently, and the extension it installs creates this problem, probably by firing an event for a second time.
The obvious solution is to turn it off, the name of the extension is AVG Safe Search 10.0.0.1151. Just go to add-ons in firefox, and disable it.
