I call the girl who shares this apartment with me my roommate, and we do not share a bedroom. I would never call her my "flatmate" because I #1 do not call this apartment a flat and #2 am not from Europe.

Has anyone else ever thought about what reading the posts from this thread might look like to an outsider who didn't have access to any background information about us or our avatars? I'm pretty sure they would think that we are all nuts...which is probably not too far from the truth. Oh, well.

Trust me. I'm the last person to ever start using British lingo. But flatmate makes logical sense opposed to roommate if you're sharing a room.

Thabks hoots. I would never actually lock this thread...maybee move it to GD but never lock it. I lived in a flat last year and no one called us flatmates
