CC Site Slow down
Is any one else experiencing rather significant load times here at CC? I have tested my network and all is ok here. Other web pages are loading normally.
Just wondering.
I will get 2- "normal" moves, speed wise that is, and then it might take 2 minutes for the next move/page to refresh.
Seems to be worse on the "playing game/map" pages than the forum pages. But if it is in a significant hesitation, than the forum pages are hard/slow to access as well.
Not complaining, just wondering.

Well, I'm glad and not glad to hear that.
I was pretty sure it wasn't on my end, but you never know.
Thanks,

You're lucky. The speed is unbelievably slow tonight - took all my perseverance to even reach this forum! I took two turns and they lasted about 40 minutes in total! I had several "page cannot be displayed". In one instance it was 10 minutes after I began my turn that I could actually deploy the armies. Thankfully, it seems to have speeded up now.
Yea slow
is it because there are to many people on cnquer club at once or is the server just not big enough cuz I just wasted 20 minutes of my life waiting for the page to load earlier and those 20 minutes are priceless lol! It seems to be moving a little faster.

very slow
I love the concept of this site but a PHP architecture isn't 24/7 ready yet.

It slowed down even more, then, in the middle of a turn, it kicked me off some how,. Took about 10 minutes before I could log back in.
But , seems to be working now, though I had a weird card problem after the kick out and re-start.
But, alls well that ends well.

finish turn
Is there any rules about not finishing your turn because the site was too slow? Seems like there should be some kind of rule about this, official or unofficial.

A question
I am not sure whether this belongs here or not, but I am posting it anyway.
Today I was playing my turn in game 297150. For some reason the server was very slow, and consequently it took me almost 40 minutes to finish one opponent. Fine, I thought, after all I had still time to deploy, attack one last country and fortify, right? Wrong! Suddenly the site stopped responding altogether. I tried to do anything for the last 20 minutes and I barely could deploy the armies I received. I called a friend and he said he couldn't access the site too. Then I ran out of time because I wasn't even able to hit the end turn button and consequently didn't get a card. 3 minutes later the site was back.
Now, I didn't receive a card even though I have conquered a country during my turn. Being an escalating game it means a huge disadvantage for me. Shouldn't I get one? After all, all I didn't do (couldn't do, in fact) was to press the bloody button.
Yet another thing, what the hell has happened to the server? This was around 20:30h GMT, 2007-03-17.
Thank you, to whomever this might be addressed

not sure what happened to the server, but yeah...it was soo slow...and it booted me multiple times...
you didn't receive a card because you ran out of time...which to me seems unfair, but thats just the way it is...and i'm pretty sure the site can't tell the difference between it running to slow, and you just forgetting to press a button...
