I'd just like to take this opportunity to announce the first victory of the tournament. Josh and i (Wil) have solidly defeated Gabe and Alan

We did not forfeit, the game need not be played, as another team in our bracket is 2-0, and regardless of the outcome, we would not be moving on.

The reason all games would be played was so that we could rank all teams. Now you are 15. Plus rumor has it you refused to play due to a fear of losing points.

I told Gabe that I did not want to play the game because it meant nothing to the tournament, and playing a couple privates when I'm bouncing around the border of being captain doesn't entice me much. Risk losing 25-30 pts for ~15? No thanks.

As far as seeding and future tournaments go, why not have a real tournament with real seeding? Have it single elimination, with real brackets similar to those of any basketball or tennis tournaments. As far as seeding goes, the best and easiest way to do it would be to add up the points of the two players, and rank them that way. Say there are 16 teams, have 2 of each seeds #1-8, and set it up with two brackets, winners of each side meeting in the championship.

That format is far better than random seeding and round robins. I'll partake in any future tournaments in that format.

Well... This tournament was for deciding seeds....

So, by dropping out this early, all you did was make it so you're bottom seed in the next one...

Also, we've won our first match.

All first round games have now either been started or finished. We are waiting only for the last 4 games to finish up. Good luck!

See, points don't really show the skill. Alan and Gabe's points are probably higher than Forrest's and mine, but we are also advancing. Also, I'd love to play you guys when the tourney is over or when forrest and gabe have games open.

And we all know that Shadic and K-AriVo[03] are going to take it all.

Do we get like, something special if we win both games this round?

The three brackets on the left are the different options for the final round. If all 5 teams make it through, then someone will have a bye, and it will then work like a normal bracket until 3 teams are left. Then there will be another round robin, like you played in the first round. If all teams are 1-1, then a final tie-breaker three way game will be played.

If only 4 get through then it will work like a normal bracket.

If 3 get through, that will mean that two of them were 2-0 in the 2nd round and the other was 1-1. The 2-0 teams will play each other for first, and the 1-1 team will win third.

Simple
:)

To answer your question, if you go 2-0 then:
Option one would be eliminated
Option two would mean you got nothing special (sorry)
Option three would mean that you get to play for first
