Numia Kereru wrote:Amen to that. At least our not-so-big-headed Kiwi sailors still hold their own in the Olympics from time to time.

I think one of the biggest jokes of the Cup was that whole catamaran affair
And another big one was when he took the Kiwis to court for having a fibreglass hull while he still had the old aluminium one

Damn, Conner was the man we all loved to hate, too... those were the days

Maybe it all started to go downhill with that whole winged keel thing that the aussies used in '83. That was really the birth of the technological revolution in the Cup, and ever since the money required has grown exponentially.

Anyway, we should stop. People will put us on their ignore lists for this.

1. Absolutely... as much as I hate to admit the Aussies ever beat us at something lol
2. Yes, we'd better... lol

Did Kareem count as one?

I honestly can't think of another player. My excuse is I'm a kiwi and our national sport is rugby, not bball lol

djt just like you i knew your answer immediately (Oscar Robertson claims that Elgin Baylor was the best basketball player who ever lived), unfortunately Chingow beat me to it! great job to both of you :)
I'll gues Don "The Magic Man" Majkowski on the current question, but I have a feeling that's not right...

Guess I'm up again then...
What was the last year the US sent an all amateur basketball team to the Olympics, and what was the result? Bonus points if you can name any of the members of that team (there were several guys who went on to stellar pro carreers)
