doggy_sirius changed to KoE Sirius.I asked Lackattack nicely and bought a premium membership and he said ok.My whole game history was changed with my new ID in place of my old.

4. How do I change my username?

Because player reputation is important to the integrity of the game, we do not allow members to change their usernames. Please don't create a second account as that will just get you banned. However, if your username contains personally identifiable information, please open a support ticket below and we will change it for you.

Sorry this will not happen, for the foreseeable future. Maybe in the future your name can be changed where your ID remains the same, but this is not the case for now.

Yes. Basicly its not allowed to change your name unless your name holds identifiable information.
Wierd to have a rule based on not upsetting the entire integrity of this game, so while it is technically possible, it is extremely unwanted...
sirius was an exception, and as you know its the exception that confirms the rule, or something

So...I'm rather confused by this. SirSebaster says (very firmly) that one cannot change their username, yet the man formerly known as doggy_sirius was able to just 'ask lack nicely', give Lack 25 dollars and change it.

Hmm...

So in fact we can change, but the approved line is to very firmly say that you can't so not too many people ask?

Or as something changed since doggy_sirius - and I feel he must be always referred to now as the more familiar 'doggy' - ponied up the cash?

If you really want to change your name, post a thread in GD saying you're leaving, then just make a new account and buy premium. They probably won't catch you...

Do you know this as a fact? Maybe when the site first started it wasn't a problem but with the growing membership the policy was changed.
