Happy Halloween, Kids!!

Anybody know which house hands out the candy laced with acid?

I swear...safety checking the Halloween candy is one of my favorite parenting duties.

We save the Tootsie Rolls to give out to kids that Trick-orTreat at our house. Tootsie rolls suck.

Okay, when was the last time you could buy a Mars bar? Seriously... I'm the old guy here and I don't say stuff like that.

They call them Snickers with Almonds now...but they're still Mars bars.

And I love them.

There's plenty of Marsbars here in my kids halloween treat bags. I'm going to raid a few, they're the little ones. They have allways been here. There's even a new one that's all caramel inside but I don't like it as much as the regular ones.

America, land of the free indeed. Free to miss out on Marsbars because they are not available where Sullivan lives.

That's like saying Reese peanut butter cups are a hershey bar covered in peanut butter. They're seperate entitys. Mars bars are chocolate covered nugat and caramel, like a milkey way with a layer of caramel in it.

Come on up Sullivan I'll buy you some mars bars. You might want to wait until around June though when it warms up again.

It always impressed me how Mars could make so many similar chocolate bars and do so well with all of them. It's like starting with a Milky Way and adding options.

They're subtle differences that count though. I don't usually like caramel but like mars bars. I had a couple those little mars yesterday and one today. I also had a tasty twix today. Caramel again but good.

In 1932, Forrest Mars, son of American candy maker Frank C. Mars, rented a factory in Slough and with a staff of twelve people began manufacturing a chocolate bar consisting of nougat and caramel covered in milk chocolate, modelled after his father's Milky Way bar, which was already popular in the US.[3] Today the basic recipe is unaltered but the size of the bar and the proportions of the main components have changed over the years.

Peanut butter cups, Mr.big, Coffee crisp, Twizzlers, Kit Kat, Crunchie. That would be today's favorite list if it's restricted to Halloween treats.

Babe Ruth anyone?

Actually, my favorite mass-produced candy is Milky Way bars, though almost anything with caramel and chocolate rates well in my book. My absolute favorites are dark chocolate confections made by a small candy shop where I grew up.
