Do you need a map of the Americas?
And I was including the Caribean islands too.

Yes, I'm going to include the Carribean islands. Possibly even Hawaii. And no, I have some good visuals, I don't need another map.
I would really appreciate your opinions over here.

Here some maps that I would love to see on here

************************************************

MEXICO MAP
http://www.conquerclub.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14824

I free handed the state borders and posted it up to try to inspire some good designers to run with it.

MAP OF POLYNESIA
*if you do this map, please understand that the Philippines are not part of Polynesia, but are a part of Asia which is a common misconception. (Wikipedia) Here is a list of what countries fall under the category of being Polynesian.

* American Samoa (overseas United States territory)
* Anuta (in the Solomon Islands)
* Cook Islands (self-governing state in free association with New Zealand)
* Easter Island (part of Chile, called Rapa Nui in Rapa Nui)
* Emae (in Vanuatu)
* French Polynesia ("overseas country", a territory of France)
* Hawai‘i (a state of the United States)
* Kapingamarangi (in the Federated States of Micronesia)
* Loyalty Islands (a dependency of the French territory of New Caledonia)
* Mele (in Vanuatu)
* New Zealand (called Aotearoa in Māori, usually associated with Australasia)
* Niue (self-governing state in free association with New Zealand)
* Nuguria (in Papua New Guinea)
* Nukumanu (in Papua New Guinea)
* Nukuoro (in the Federated States of Micronesia)
* Ontong Java (in the Solomon Islands)
* Pileni (in the Solomon Islands)
* Rennell (in the Solomon Islands)
* Rotuma (in Fiji)
* Samoa (independent nation)
* Sikaiana (in the Solomon Islands)
* Swains Island (politically part of American Samoa)
* Takuu (in Papua New Guinea)
* Tikopia (in the Solomon Islands)
* Tokelau (overseas dependency of New Zealand)
* Tonga (independent nation)
* Tuvalu (independent nation)
* Wallis and Futuna (overseas territory of France)

*******************************************************

SEATTLE MAP

Like New York and San Francisco, Seattle is broken up into a handful of Burroughs/Districts. With the Puget Sound and Lake Union right in the middle of it, it makes for as good of a City Map as the San Francisco Map that is being worked on right now.

Seattle Burroughs

Capital Hill
Queen Anne
Fremont
Ballard
U-District
Belltown
Magnolia
Wallingford
West Seattle
Madrona
Green Lake
Montlake
Pioneer Square
Beacon hill
Mt. Baker
International District
SoDo (South Downtown)
Crown Hill
Shoreline
Interbay
Phinney Ridge
Loyal Heights
Ravenna

You can use the fairies and bridges to get to Bainbridge Island and Bremerton

***************************************************

MARCH MADNESS MAP

for all you basketball nuts. With the brackets and seeds, there has to be something that would make a logical map.

***************************************************

BRITISH EMPIRE MAP

"The sun never sets on the British Empire"
A map of the British Empire pre-WWII. It would be interesting to see a world map based upon conquering the pre-WWII British Empire.

****************************************************

If anyone is already working on these maps, you rock and sorry for not noticing. I wish I had some Graphic design skills but at least I have some good suggestions. At least I think I do

a map idea

Post by luns101 »

I've noticed that in addition to myself, there are some people here who read Stephen King's DARK TOWER books. I thought it would be cool to create a map based on the territories mentioned in the book.

Those of you who have read the books will remember places that could be used for territories:

Mid-World, The Wastelands, The Calla, Tull, etc. Blaine the Mono and the Waystation could be warps from one territory to another (sort of like the anchors used in the Philippines map).

I'm not technically savvy enough to create it, but I've noticed some of the talent from some of you and thought I would throw the idea out there. If you're interested in creating one, I'd love to at least consult on some of the areas. Thanks.

Narnia

Post by Vaati »

How about a Narnia map?

http://www.trinitywallstreet.org/resources/images/narniaMap.jpg

So, I think places like Aslan's How, Cair Paravel, Beaversdam, Lantern Waste, Northern Marches, Galma, maybe another or two. These would make up Narnia of the Narnia world. Then, there would be Archenland. Archenland would be smaller. Only, perhaps, Anvard, Mt. Pire, the passage into Narnia, and passage into Calormen. Archenland would also have the island of Terebinthia. (sp?)

Calormen would have, of course, Tashbaan. It could also have the oasis, Narrow Gorge, Lone Isles, Desert Outpost, Mountains to the south, and mountains to the west.

Then, we have the Wild Lands of the North. Harfang will be, like Cair Paravel and Tashbaan, the most important area. We can also have Ettinsmoor, (possibly divided) the giant bridge, the ruins of the city, Seven Isles, possibly Northern Border.

As seen in the Voyage of the Dawn Treader, there are isles to the east. These can make roughly 3 or 4 areas, possibly some sort of giant ship or something when there are large areas.

Now, what will make this map so special? I suggest Narnia be big on "1 way" areas. Since Narnia can block Calormen from the other areas, and Narnia can block the Wild Lands, we would have special one way areas. I know that the islands all belong to Narnia, but thats would ruin some fun. Each area has 1 island. All these islands would be connected. The ones far east as depicted in the VotDT would be the "Oceania" part of the map. That gives Narnia Calormen, Narnia, Archenland, Oceania, and Wild lands of the North. Narnia appears the most pronged to be attacked, so fully controlling it would be the most. Oceania would have the least.

So, every island is connected, making all the areas in risk to be attacked. We know from The Horse and His Boy that there is a gate between Archenland and Narnia, I believe. This would give Archenland and advantage over Narnia. However, Calormen can attack Archenland 1 way because of the desert. The Wild Lands of the North is portected by Ettinsmoor, which is dangerous. We are to assume armies there are giants, and can enter Narnia. However, from the islands, each area can attack 1 specific coastal area on another land. This means 1 coastal area and your island and 1 passageway will need to be defended. Oceania area will be a must have, since it will be the easiest to defend. Perhaps to make it a little less chaotic, you can only attack from mainland to mainland every other turn. Or not, whatever we all like. If people like this, we can come up with bonus armies and what areas will be what color cards, etc. etc.

Also, Middle Earth is like the only fictional map. I think we need at least another, and C. S. Lewis and Tolkien were friends.

Doesn't look much like Narnia. To me, anyway.

Even so, most maps just look... boring. Narnia would be fresh, and even if its like Discworld in anyway, I still think a Narnia map would be a good inclusion.

Well then, has anyone suggested a Legend of Zelda map?

new map idea

i have no talent with computers, so someone should make a map of either Russia or the Soviet Union. that would be a good place cuz they got a bunch of their own states and plenty of landforms.

isn't it obvious?? :roll:

for any map inspired by a copyrighted idea you need to ask and receive permission. so if anybody emails george lucas for a star wars map approval i'll be more than happy to give it a go :D
