I like the checkbox and accept all marked option; similarly, would like to see that checkbox with a "delete all marked" option.

Let's say you're invited to 8 games, you want to accept 7. I'd like to be able to:
check the game i want deleted, then "delete all marked"
Then a "check all" and "accept all marked" option.
Or, if I only want to accept 3 of them, I check three and "accept all marked"

It would be nice wouldn't it!

I still think this has some flaws. Need to define what will happen when you've only got a certain number of slots available.

accepting invites

Post by benlav »

when multiple invites come through, when you accept it you go to the "awaiting players" tab. Any chance that if you have multiple invites awaiting response, upon responding you stay in the "invitations" tab? At the moment you accept, then need to go back into the invitations to accept the next one, and so on.

cheers.

YES. I thought of suggesting this when I got a bunch of invites from ljex.

Why not have the invitations page show how many slots you have available and then disable the "Accept all checked invitations" button if you check more than your limit? Then it is up to you to pick and choose before you can proceed.

IMPROVE INVITE SYSTEM

Post by whakamole »

Concise description:
The current system for invites sucks
  • you should not have to return to "invites" multiple times to join all the games you need to join
  • the current invites system is terrible
  • i repeat, it is awful
  • what I envision is being able to check the boxes of games you want to join, such that you can join multiple games at once, much like you can highlight/delete multiple messages at once

Specifics/Details:
  • if I need to join 8 tournament games, it requires 16 mouse clicks. That is not cool.

How this will benefit the site and/or other comments:
  • Everyone who plays games with invites will appreciate it immensely

You should add.....

The ability to remove an invite (instead of waiting 24 hours)

and

The ability of the invities and other to see the time left on the invite, currently only the person receiving the invite sees the time remaining

Also, a better invite system overall... For one game, you type in all the invitees, and then hit invite. All invites will be sent simultaneously. Will save a lot of confusion for team games...

Agreed. This would be a logical next-step in the system. Either have a "join all" button or at least leave you on that page (or both!).

whakamole wrote:

  • Or this also. <grin>

And as jpcloet later said, the ability to "uninvite" if you're the invitation-sender. That way, if you mistakenly send an invite, you don't have to kill the game and re-do everything (including sending out all of the invites previously sent).

Actually, screw all that...I agree with everything that has been stated in this thread so far...well done, folks.

    All of the above.

3 more ways to improve invites...

Allow us to change the time limit on an invite. Go up in 24 hour increments. 24/48/72 hours. (great for tournament invites)

On the invite screen, allow us to invite more than one person at a time to a game. 8 player game means going into he invite screen 8 times.

Allow us to invite one player to multiple games without having to go through everything.

My favorites from this thread so far:

--Invite multiple people at once to a single game
--Being able to withdraw incorrect invites

All of these suggested changes make a lot of sense and would make the whole system of inviting much easier. Would make setting up clan games much easier as well. This should be implemented ASAP.

Yes, this would be a very good option. As a tournament organizer, this would be something that helps a lot in the inviting process.

Yes, a "Join All" button would be greatly appreciated or at least bring us back to the invite page if there are more invitations.

jpcloet wrote:The ability to remove an invite

Another amazing idea. All of these need to be incorporated immediately!

    I AGREE WITH EVERYTHING!!
