Thanks for the discussion, but it will be a slightly modified snake draft. Plus we are considering who played who last season, plus the 4 finalists are not ranked properly in the post above. I will do my best to post the divisions tonight.

007's gonna win it all again, guys. I do think 344 will be a big surprise. The lack of 958 will certainly be interesting.

So after talking again with Masli, the top 8 clans from last year kept their rank spot. We put the Division winners TOFU and AOC as 9 and 10 (and then moved them all up to the vacant spot with THOTA not participating) Due to that setup, there were a few minor swaps to ensure most of a division from last year was not in the same division and also to ensure TOFU and AOC were not in the same division. Based on season 2's original promotion schedule, TOFU and AOC ended up with the same division leaders as they otherwise would have. I think we have a fairly good balance and the competition should be at a very high level this year.

Divisions are posted on the first post.

Don't think the divisions could be much fairer. Div A is probably toughest. Div B looks interesting I reckon there could be a surprise or two there.

The two division winners, two undefeated clans in 2010, arguably the top two clans of the year, in the same division. And then there's Div B.

Well, looking forward to quite the test.

Devil's Brigade. I am guessing EMP is EMPIRE. That will make an interesting match-up for some of my Clan mates

3 years we have participated, 3 years we are in the hardest division... lol... kind of strange how that works. tofu in it automatically makes it the hardest

lol at the last comment. I raised an eyebrow too.

Not to worry though - it's gonna be fun whatever. My only regret will be if TOFU have to face LoW in the Conqueror's Cup (looking quite likely as things stand) as that's gonna be a lot of games against each other with these divisional games thrown in. That said, it has always been a pairing I've looked forward to :D

The 10 player minimum is a lot for small clans to hit every week - can we lower it, make it 8 for example? I think everyone would want to have more than 10 almost all weeks. But in a clan with fewer than about 20 actives it could be a big hassle for the clan contacts to get enough players to turn out at busy times.

The Legion has 22 members. We are fine with the requirement. It will really show the depth of the clans. Perhaps TSM needs to promote some players from their training grounds? What is that thing called? The Spankademy? Woo Goo!

Don't sweat it reptile. I just did a RPI ladder using only clan challenge results in months ending in the letter "y" and in odd numbered years...turns out everyone in our division is pretty terrible ;) Of course, the Legion is ranked last in every simulation...and we beat BSS and ID recently, so I don't think you guys have anything to worry about 8-)

Nice work, jp. Should be fun...challenging, but fun. Cheers. =D>

I'm far too new in TSM to be speaking for the monkis. Have been talking to a few clans wearing my Dispatch hat, but the views expressed here are entirely my own.

We are 15 regular players and 4 part timers, but i think we'll cope no problem. I rather like the 'minimum 10' rule - it ensures more people get involved.

You know, I obviously don't have a dog in this hunt, but it seems like once again flawed numbers have prevailed over common sense, something that has become endemic to the Reign of the CDs. The fact that LoW, the Monkis, TOFU, and Kort aren't each in their own division, but are instead clustered in two divisions, is, as the kids are calling it these days, a travishamockery. If nothing else, Division A is a total farce, given that it contains both division winners (plus both clans are in the midst of CC semifinals), along with the criminally, perpetually under-ranked Legion, who could win the whole league and still be ranked #12 on the ladder by all indications. And I like the Bandits as much as the next guy, but valuing their league result over their lack of pretty much any other significant result (not to mention their current pasting at the hands of G1) just strikes me as misguided.

Good luck, everyone. Clearly you're in good hands here.

so do you want that seeding is made by reputation, not by results? is that the reason THOTA is not in? didnt want to be in 2nd line of seedings?

BpB was over TSM in regular season 2, earned that place in games, not by someone's personal opinion. so why would TSM be ahead of BpB in seedings?
also, BpB defeated IA in semifinal, who was better than KORT in regular season. so why would KORT be ahead of BpB in seedings?

maybe the best would be make seedings by reputation, not by results, so THOTA can always and forever be 1t seed, dont you think so?

The 4 Season2 finalists are all in their own divisions, TOFU won a Division2 grouping, so they technically have not proven themselves as a league clan, although we all know what they did outside of the league. Plus if you look at the playoff structure, both teams in a Division can still make it to the Finals this year.

To be a clan you must have at least 10 active members and most clans are 24-30 clans, so that means less than half of most clan members need to participate on a regular basis. I think you need to figure out who will be showing up every week then.

Division B seems to be full of clans that get no respect but have played very well. Maybe if BPB win the league, they will be taken seriously by more people. Have you played their dubs team or Fruitcake in games? They are a very strong gaming clan, just maybe not as active as people think they should be, but to each their own.

So after all this, the only team not playing from Season 2 Div A is THOTA and Div B is LOTZ. A shame the "#1" clan on the site is unwilling to play in the only official clan league on the site.

with less dubs games it shall be much more difficult for them i think...Though i love the kids...i dont see them as strong this year...then again it would be us and them as 1/2 in division c

Come on, guys, leave THOTA alone. I'm not their biggest fan (vice versa actually) and I wish they would of participated in the League but we don't know how many active members they have right now and what game loads they can handle.

Also, JP has done a great job, thank you for all the effort! We are happy with our division and can't wait for the schedule to be posted and games to begin :)

tofu may be unproven in the cla (though just in the cla they have the best overall record and there was no doubt they would not destroy div 2)... but even away from the cla, they have not lost a challenge, come close to it, or given ANY other clan a chance. Everyone knows that Tofu is a top 3 overall clan and with thota not participating makes it a little unfair for div A. We will play no matter what, i'm just looking forward to the day these random ranking and such dont put us in the toughest division... was hoping this would be the first year since we were ranked 1 and there were 4 divisions... but i guess no?!

I'm lookin' forward to being in Division A. It may be tough to advance but it'll be a ton of fun playing against quality opponents.

I'll be a contrarian and say that all the divisions look really good. TOFU and LOW together should make for a compelling storyline all season. Each of the other divisions has at least one heavyweight - Division D has 2 in TSM and KORT. I think it'll be a great season, looking forward to a lot of good games.
