Re: MÉXICO [D, GP, GR] p1/18 --Sep 11th--
So now, RedBaron0, The Bison King, and myself have all mentioned the Veracruz/Veracruz issue. I think there should be something textual on the map to guide the user to the proper entry in a drop down menu. For consistency, the word Puerto should be tucked in below the port icon and above the name of each port.

Congrats for the stamp mate
If Veracruz is a problem, you could use "Veracruz" for the port and "Veracruz-Llave" for the territory --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignacio_de_la_Llave
If Veracruz is a problem, you could use "Veracruz" for the port and "Veracruz-Llave" for the territory --> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ignacio_de_la_Llave
Also, in his honor, Veracruz state was known as Veracruz-Llave from 1863 to 2004, and since 2004 has been officially known as Veracruz de Ignacio de la Llave.

I echo the congratulations, and endorse the Veracruz-Llave suggestion. It provides for a distinction on the map without resorting to putting the word "Puerto" under every icon as I previously suggested.

Looks like I'll go with that... renaming one of the territories would be my preferred option
Final request from any Mexican CC'ers (or Spanish speakers) - please could you check the map for any spelling errors/mistakes; I'd rather fix them now than when the map is live

I strongly recommend you to rename the Veracruz port as "Puerto de Veracruz" and to leave the territory of Veracruz just like that. This is, rename the port, not the state
Spelling mistakes? None, but I found only one grammar mistake: In Spanish you don't say "Valle de Anáhuac"; the correct way to say it is "Valle del Anáhuac". It's only matter of adding an "l" to de preposition "de" because del is the contraction of the preposition "de" and the article "el".
Re: MÉXICO [D, GP, GR] p1/18 --Sep 11th--
Should all the ports be labelled "Puerto de ...." in the XML? Or should some of them be "Puerto del ...." ?

"Puerto de", I believe, would be the correct one. "Puerto del" is for when you have a masculine article in front of the noun, though I'm not sure how this works for names entirely.

I think for names it's just "Puerto de", and if you wanted to use an oceanic port or something like that it would be "Puerto del (ocean name)". I think.

Back, for one night only---a reunion event! I am proud to present....
---The Final Forge period has concluded for the Mexico map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Beta Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for BETA Play. After an extended period of time in BETA and once all quirks and issues have been resolved, the map will be put into Full Play (barring any Lack vetoes).
Conquer Club, enjoy!
While the map is in BETA Play, there are a couple of administrative tasks that are required of the mapmaker(s) in addition to the initial gameplay testing:

While the map is in BETA Play, there are a couple of administrative tasks that are required of the mapmaker(s) in addition to the initial gameplay testing:
- 1. Please ensure that the first post of the thread contains all the necessary information to help future visitors to the development thread; it's particularly important to ensure the most recent images are there, along with any helpful guides (such as gameplay quirks/nuances or the location/size of any starting neutrals etc.)
2. Please update the Map Information Portal with details of your map
3. Finally, it is the responsibility of the mapmaker(s) to ensure that they respond to further feedback in a timely and constructive manner.

Ports are named incorrectly as "Puerte", it should be "Puerto de Ensenada, "Puerto Vallarta" (without the 'de'), "Puerto de Acapulco", "Puerto de Cancún", "Puerto de Veracruz" & "Puerto de Tampico".

Good catch, (chum is) fum. Also, you think you should have the abbreviated territories deciphered somewhere on the map?

I would guess it refers to the label Colima appearing out in the ocean. Why not reply to the PM and ask, at the same time suggesting that comments go in this thread?
