Again, would love to hear that feedback, and will keep it confidential if pm'd.

jpcloet wrote:I think you need to have a conversation with your CLA representatives and even the other Clan Director. Each clan in the CLA has 2 reps and thus has 2 votes, technically your clan has 3. You should find out how your rep voted then, maybe even consider a term as a rep.

Many top clans argued that doubles is less representative of skill than quads and Bruceswar has a good example of what the win rate of a good player on each team setting is, and they are not the same in his opinion and I tend to agree with it based on numerical analysis. The actual format was not voted on, however, the call to less dubs and more quads has been ongoing since Season 1.

As for the top clans joining or not, I really hope it has nothing to do with 2 spots, plus none have come out to say that is a real problem in joining. If they want to pm me to give me some feedback on why they cannot join, then that would be great. My understanding is that such clans feel that both the league and CCup is too burdensome for their rosters and possibly their clan's goals.

I didnt know that voting 2 rep from each clan participate in making decisions. I tried to find that pools in clan forum and couldnt find anything so that s why I thought making decision is not with every clan included in. as this topic is called "Info, Q&A", I felt free to write my opinion here, as didnt find other official topic for discussion (except the one for game load, which is some time inactive). ok, so I agree now that deciding system is democratic ;)

but other my reasons related to why some clans will not join are still unchanged.
I see time load (29 slots, 7 more than in Season 2, and that are the slots that requires much more time per player, because 1 slot in quad requires much more time per player than 1 slot in dubs game) as one reason.

also, some players are specialists for dubs games and having only 2 dubs games limits them to have fun, much more if in the clan is more teams who love to play dubs.
for example, let say a clan have 8 players who have fun in playing dubs and 8 players who have fun in playing quads. dubs players will then have chance to play only 1 game (8 slots home and away) that they like per round, and quads players will have chance to play 4 games (32 slots) that they like per round. as I think having fun is the most important part of playing (more important than winning) then players who enjoy in playing quads have 4 times more chance to have fun than the ones who enjoy in playing dubs. with 3-3-3 format that difference would become lower. so, limited chance of having fun for the players who like to play dubs games may be the other reason.

jpcloet wrote:Many top clans argued that doubles is less representative of skill than quads

so with written above I wanted to show: if winning is more important than having fun then 4-3-2 format is better because win a quad is much harder then win dubs game.
if having fun is more important than winning then 3-3-3 would be better because allows more equal number of slots to players who like dubs than to ones who like quads.

all that is only my opinion which may be wrong (like every other person's opinion), and the best would be if clans who not participate say their reasons for that, so JPC would then have more chances to improve clan competitions with that feedbacks.

anyway, kort is now officially in, so I am looking forward to have great fun in Season 3 ;)

Specialists do have their place, but the league is meant to show players can play more than just one map and more than just doubles. The take away you should work on is how to include more doubles but make them count for less maybe. All games are of equal value and that should be considered for Season 4.

As to KORT being in, I don't see the contacts and would prefer to see the post by that League leader. Spot reserved.

That's twice that has happened now that I have missed a post, and I read all posts. I think there might be a forum bug in the timing of posts and the first unread link. Will have to test something out.

Anyways, I have setup the model to organize the divisions, and as it stand a pure snake draft would put the Div2 finalists together, so tried a modified 3-tier snake draft which might work better and a better mix is obtained so that teams don't face old division mates. Autobids are ranked by regular season and LOW-BPB division is ranked higher due to playoff success. Eg. A1,B1,A2,B2. Playins were ranked by latest RPI score. There are 20 clans in (4 divs of 5 right now) and 4-5 clans that have not indicated one way or another, so waiting until confirmations before I set the divisions and schedules. With TOFU as a promotion team, that division will certainly be very tough.

When I posted I got the "another post has been made blah blah are you sure you wish to submit?" I really can't remember the actual message wording at all, but I'm sure you know what I mean! And so I posted anyway. Perhaps that contributed to the issue in some way.

The last big post it showed 2 posts made while I had been typing. I think it has to do with me being logged into 2 computers plus switching from quick reply to full editor. Been trying to do yard work and watch kids alternating this weekend. What's the time out on logins, 30 minutes or so?

It seems pretty obvious to me that THOTA didn't want to play in this season of the league due to their "poor" performance last year and what that did to them on the ladder. Most have written they don't think the ladder is right, but that is neither here nor there. The point is, I think THOTA and TSM both under performed last year due to the fact that they had a huge war going on. It's hard to focus on the league when there is such an intense battle going on. I think they recognized this and decided to focus entirely on the CCcup.

Only those clans can explain their decision, so I guess it's not our place to make suppositions as to why they're not participating. All I can say is that the league will be all the poorer for their absence.

From TOFU's perspective the Clan League is actually a light game load (we're approx 15 active members) and we can incorporate it along with TLO, Conqueror's Cup and private challenges all concurrently (as we have been doing). The admin is probably the biggest headache, but once it's done it's simply a matter of adding a few more games to one's playlist which is no big deal.

This is the biggest stopping factor. Getting everything organized and ready to rock. Sure it is only a few games each, but the before hand stuff takes time. Someone has to do it.
