Oh, and George Bush? You are seriously lauding him for getting a C- in college? Seriously?

That inconsistency right there is one of the reasons why people ask. Either Bush shared his results at some point, or they were illegally obtained.

They seem to have been leaked along with his National Gaurd stuff. To claim that just because one person released their records anybody else who doesn't is "hiding something" is the type of claim McCarthy made some 60 years ago. I thought we were past those times.

But.. history does repeat itself, they say.

Of course, if Obama released his records, you same yahoos would be on here either saying "oh, that fucking Obama, he is trying to act like he is too smart for the average citizen" or you would be saying "lies. lies! he is from kenya and shouldn't be allowed to attend our universities or run for president. Where is his birth certificate!!!111!!!!"

Who fucking cares what grades he got? I'm sure he did fine and passed college.

Are you a birther PhatScotty? Do you think Obama actually is a citizen? You start the most inane threads, yet you also show intelligence in your posts. I'm confused. Are you just another psycho in this country that wants to start stupid rumors or do you have intelligent thought?

Oh, and George Bush? You are seriously lauding him for getting a C- in college? Seriously? Shit, I somehow pulled out a B average despite doing a lot of drugs and drinking large quantities of alcohol. Should I be lauded? Should I marry someone who killed someone while drunk driving and had my parents cover it up? Should I be President?

Hey, take from it what you will and spin it however you like and compare whatever you like.

My entire point....Just 1 more thing we do not know about him. (the part about people saying how smart, brilliant, and genius Obama is, with knowing so little about Obama, says a lot about the people who say it, and is just for laughs    )

Of course you're a muslim. Don't even try to convince us otherwise. All liberals are muslims.

(I am assuming you weren't being serious either...)

So the leaking was most likely politically motivated to discredit Bush.

It was known before he began his presidential run.. not sure exactly when (maybe when he ran for governor, maybe before). It did not emerge with the presidency, it re-emerged.

Certainly, his GPA is not a national secret...is it?

what is the reason that he has his thesis and his grades sealed? and what can we learn from this that we can apply to the birth certificate fiasco.

Are all your records on the web Phatty?

Of course they aren't, because you deserve some privacy in your life.

Why, doesn't he too?

Oh yeah, It's because he's a socialist fascist trained marxist muslim that attends a black panther church, and because he was born in canadakenyamalaysia. He's special, all his records should be public domain.

Get a life.

Go jump on the Paris Hilton band wagon or something.

You guys are crazy if you think it's out of line to ask questions about a politicians background. Privacy?? Puh-leez, you give up that right when you make a serious bid for the presidency.

You guys are just making excuses, to the detriment of us all.

I believe, in the United States, it's customary for prospective workers to release their educational records to employers.

It surprises me Obama won't release his educational records to his employers.*

Not really. That's mostly for entry-level jobs, where the educational record is used to substitute for practical experience. I don't see the presidency as an "entry level position", but that's just me. AND, the employers are generally proscribed from further releasing that information.

... but nice thought.

So asking legitimate questions is now McCarthyism? No one is getting fired or thrown in jail from answering these questions.

No, insinuating that the only reason someone would fail to release normally private information is that they are hiding something dastardly... THAT very much is McCarthyism.

Particularly when tied with "marxist" accussations.

here is a link for anyone who missed this part of their history lessons:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McCarthyism

the first paragraph gives a decent definition:
McCarthyism is the political action of making accusations of disloyalty, subversion, or treason without proper regard for evidence. The term specifically describes activities associated with the period in the United States known as the Second Red Scare, lasting roughly from the late 1940s to the late 1950s and characterized by heightened fears of communist influence on American institutions and espionage by Soviet agents. Originally coined to criticize the anti-communist pursuits of U.S. Senator Joseph McCarthy, "McCarthyism" soon took on a broader meaning, describing the excesses of similar efforts. The term is also now used more generally to describe reckless, unsubstantiated accusations, as well as demagogic attacks on the character or patriotism of political adversaries.

Night Strike wrote:No one is getting fired or thrown in jail from answering these questions.

...yet.

though, if you want to get technical, telling people to vote someone out of office because "they are a marxist" and other idiocy is pretty much getting people fired based on false accusations... very much like McCarthy.

McCarthy gave us Nixon. Wonder who this new round will give us?

I would take it one step further as I believe it is subversion, or at the very least slander.

But all the comments made against McCain and Palin during the 2008 election were completely legitimate?

If it was slander or subversion, then I would say so no matter the political affiliation of the purson being slandered.
