2010 Manila Hostage Crisis

On Monday, 23-8-2010, an unfortanate incident happened in Manila, the capital city of the Philippines. A dismissed police officer, Rolando Mendoza, hijacked a bus with a lot of Hong Kong tourists on board. He claimed that he was dismissed without the opportunity to properly defend himself, so he hijacked the bus in an attempt to get his job back. The crisis ended at about nine o'clock in the evening, and unfortantely eight of the hostages died. The hijacker was killed as well. As a person born in Hong Kong, I hope that the victims can rest in peace, while the injured ones can recover both physically and mentally as soon as possible. May God bless all the people involved in this incident, including the gunman.

一名已遭革職的前菲律賓高級警務督察羅蘭多·門多薩以坐便車為名，於首都馬尼拉手持M16突擊步槍登上香港康泰旅行社在菲律賓的旅遊巴，挾持車上人質，並要求菲律賓政府讓他復職。事件於當天晚上約九時流血結束，車上八名人質不幸被殺，而槍手亦在混亂中被殺。作為一個香港人，我衷心希望是次事件中的遇難者能夠安息，亦希望受傷的人士能早日康復。願主保佑所有受事件牽涉的人，包括槍手。
