Re: Re: Thyseneal: V 3.5 with XML v1.3 [Gp][Gr]
I use fileden.com for the XML, but it is blocked by my employer, so I only see this stuff at home. I think Kabanellas uses photobucket.com , while natty_dread uses imageshack.us . You could start a topic in the Foundry Discussions forum to get the thoughts of other mapmakers. I have no idea if any of these (other than fileden.com) have free services.

Imageshack is best, it offers you unlimited images for free. There's a size limit for images but it's irrelevant for mapmaking purposes.
Also imageshack doesn't recompress your images like photobucket does. (I call it crapbucket because it crappifies all your JPG:s... although you should be using PNG anyway

Apologies for the oversight on my part - I thought I'd already given you this:

PB: 2661 | He's blue... If he were green he would die | No mod would be stupid enough to do that
Re: Re: Thyseneal: V 3.5 with XML v1.3 [Gp][Gr]
Are we completely happy with coordinate centering etc?

They look good to me. If beta reveals some flaws in coordinates, who's to stop fixing them then...

No worries, I'm just happy to be here at this point.

I am.
I reloaded the images from a much better source (on the front page as well as on the XML check page) The image colors are much richer and fuller now. If there are no concerns, I'd say this puppy is ready to forge on!

- Beta - Quenching
---The Final Forge period has concluded for the Thyseneal Map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Beta Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for BETA Play. After an extended period of time in BETA and once all quirks and issues have been resolved, the map will be put into Full Play (barring any Lack vetoes).
Conquer Club, enjoy!

Once the map is in BETA Play, there are a couple of administrative tasks that are required of the mapmaker(s) in addition to the initial gameplay testing:
- 1. Please ensure that the first post of the thread contains all the necessary information to help future visitors to the development thread; it's particularly important to ensure the most recent images are there, along with any helpful guides (such as gameplay quirks/nuances or the location/size of any starting neutrals etc.)
2. Please update the Map Information Portal with details of your map
3. Finally, it is the responsibility of the mapmaker(s) to ensure that they respond to further feedback in a timely and constructive manner.

Good job Bison! You really put a lot of work into this and you had update after update coming out non-stop. I'm looking forward to trying this map out!

Re: Thyseneal: V 3.5 with XML v1.3 [Gp][Gr][Xml] [Beta]
I don't want to be a "Debbie Downer" but it looks like the version that got uploaded to Beta was not the most recent version. Slightly before beta I re-posted the images as PNG's through ImageShack. Unless the the upload process in someway dulls the color's it looks like the version that was uploaded to Beta were the Jpg's I uploaded through Tinypic the week before. They just don't look quite as good. Amongst the images below the top image is what is on the site right now. Below it are the clearer, more vibrant Png's that were the images I had intended to be uploaded.

If these images could be uploaded in place of the current one I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: Re: Thyseneal: V 3.5 with XML v1.3 [Gp][Gr][Xml] [Beta]
The images are always converted to JPG upon uploading to the site.
I know, it sucks. I've long been advocating for at least an option to use high-quality images for maps.

ah ok, well then disregard.
Re: Re: Thyseneal: V 3.5 with XML v1.3 [Gp][Gr][Xml] [Beta]
Well, on my screen (TrueColor 1280x1024), the (large) image in Game 7539083 looks just like your intended large PNG above, while your post of what is "currently playable" is washed out in comparison. I don't know if someone actually reloaded the files or if there is a lot of difference between what you see and what I see.
Re: Re: Thyseneal: V 3.5 with XML v1.3 [Gp][Gr][Xml] [Beta]
What I see is the same as ender. It looks just like the 2nd version you posted on my end as well.

The last image posted (currently playable) looks like crap. But the images posted on the first post, looks great.
