The latest version is still the one on page 18. I have been too busy this last week to do anything new.
I'm going to test Sullys ring&cirkle technique first. It sounds like a good approach.

Fitz said he was still working on something, read his last post. It's not on my end, it's on his.

I don't think they're names of the actual people anyways, but it would be nice if it was. And it would go out of date in two years so I think we would be okay for now.

They are just random/made up names.

Well, this map is too far along for me to suggest any drastic changes, but one thing I would suggest is to put opposing lobbyists across from each other. Like Gun Control on the opposite side from NRA, Healthcare opposing Tobacco, Big Oil opposing Global warming, etc.

Not a huge deal, but I'd certainly appreciate it. :)

Hm, actually that is an interesting idea to consider, if there is ample space to do such things.

I've been trying some different approaches and what I'm realising is that the best result I can get is still the one visible on page 18.
Knowing what I do now, I'd be able to do better if I started from scratch (no no no..).
If anyone else wants to take a shot at optimizing the xml, please do so. The maps and code are here in the forum.

Regarding the opposites in the lobby. All lobbies do not have their corresponding opposites. Wont that stick out more if we start pairing the others?

well, imoff to bed to face more feverinduced crap....

Well, it kind of goes down in connection, but you can still do it.

Gun Control/NRA
Global Warming/Big Oil
Healthcare/Tobacco
Environment/Haliburton
Affirmative Action/Moral Majority
Education/Fundamentalism
Civil Rights/Defense Industry
Sierra Club/Banking

Okay, it gets kind of weak there at the end, but still. It works a ton better if you switch out "Anti-War" and "Welfare" with "Civil Rights" and "Sierra Club," looking like this:

Anti-War/Defense Industry
Welfare/Banking

But now we're changing territory names altogether and I'm not sure how much work that would mean for you, or if you'd want to do all that.

What is the problem?

Post by Waloonga »

I've been following this map for weeks/months, what is the problem - I cannot see any problem with this map or the numbers. Only somebody counting pixels can. Let's publish and play. Adjust it after it's been played for a while if there is a problem...
