Re: Napoleonic Europe 1812 - Ver 39/43 [Gp,Gr,XML]
Thanks to all who have taken the time to contribute and improve this map. Above all, many thanks to Kab for his amazing artwork, for his creative ideas, and for his angelic patience over the past 9 months. This is truly his map. Last, but not least, thanks to ender for his XML work which transforms this from a map to a palyable game. It was a pleasure and an honour to work with you two.
Now let's play it!!!! En garde!

I've never been THIS excited to play a map before, but is it just me, or can I not choose to play on the map for a little bit, even though it's in BETA?
I mean, I tried looking for it in Start a Game and Game Finder, but couldn't find it...

we'll have to wait a bit until the files are updated into the system.

Maybe the time to go-live would pass more quickly if someone put this map into the Map Info Database via the Map Database Portal. I would do it, but I think it falls to Kabanellas or Raskholnikov as the primary mapmakers, unless they delegate it.

Well, it is a relatively new part of the procedure. The Map Info Database was something chipv was doing alone, and it was getting to be too much work, but so many people liked it, he developed the portal to allow others to update it easily. Because it is so useful (and just plain neato), it was decided to require mapmakers to put in their info. Previously existing maps were likely filled in by chipv, usually based on info requested from the mapmakers. If you have older maps, you might want to look at the data and make sure it is complete and correct.
There was a link in MrBenn's post granting Beta status: Map Info Database. I don't think there was another topic for the portal itself.

yes, I've noticed the link:
but from where you took the Map Database Portal one ?
2. Please update the Map Information Portal with details of your map

It was in this later post in the Map Info Database topic. The link to the database was in the first post. I think I will suggest to chipv that he put the link to the portal in the first post as well.

The turtle moves in mysterious ways...

PB: 2661 | He's blue... If he were green he would die | No mod would be stupid enough to do that
Re: Napoleonic Europe 1812 - Ver 39/43 [Gp,Gr,XML,BETA]
Sometimes, it seems like just two ways: slow, and dead stop. Sigh....
Re: Napoleonic Europe 1812 - Ver 39/43 [Gp,Gr,XML,BETA]
Am very anxious to play this map. Thank you to all who worked on it!
Now if this does not go live soon I will foe the entire site. Starting with AoG of course.
