Shouldn;t be too long before this one hits the forge.... I know it's been a labour of love, but the effort will be well worth the reward. Thanks for sticking with us Kab

So Kab, what are we doing in this section? I understand we need to submit map info to the maps database, double-check the xml, and iron out any last-minute game-play and graphics details. Anything else? You've been here before, so your expertise is called on

Re: Napoleonic Europe 1812 - Ver 39/43 [Gp]
after looking at the map and reading through the entire thread, i have come to two conclusions. keep in mind that these are my opinions; if you prefer to ignore them, please do.
First, the map looks really good. a little confusing perhaps, but that was the nature of the situation at that time. i liked the response to AndrewB's post.
Second, in reading the transcript of the conversation as an observer, it seems to me that the.killing.44 did not have the intentions you accused him of. i may be wrong, but what he said seems innocent enough to me, and actually quite logical. in my humble opinion, this: "no i dont agree. your map is the map i developed and i wont have it used by two different people who cant agree on graphics. i will not allow that. we're supposed to work together as a team, on one project." was a bit of an overreaction.
best regards!

I supposed we need to wait for ender's final update on the XML, test it.... and post all final images and code.

The maps database stuff doesn't need to done until the map is actually in Beta. Up until that point, the focus should be on the XML and any final niggles that arise...

Super. Thanks for that. Ender is working on Xml right now. Can you find any niggles you wish to have addressed?

I think Benn was talking about some misplaced army numbers that might appear or any incongruence in the final XML.

Perfect then.
Re: Napoleonic Europe 1812 - Ver 39/43 [Gp]
I will try to get a revised XML posted soon, but real life is snapping at my heels right now.
It seems to me that of late, Final Forge has become a place to go back to the beginning and review everything. In the past, when XML was a hand-crafted thing, best reserved until all gameplay and graphics were firm, there was no choice but to spend time in the Final Forge (prior to Beta). Now that tools like the Map XML Wizard exist, the completion of XML doesn't take very long, but there is still a feeling that there must be a period of waiting.

Here we go, folks, version 1.8 of the XML, using the suggested coordinate fixes sent by Kab to me.
