On a side note, England's Rooney has been named the world's ugliest footballer!

Wow. I'm glad there's going to be a first-time winner, but I'm surprised Span was able to keep a clean sheet against Germany.

Well done Spain. I think I'll have to pick them over the Netherlands for the finals (and Germany over Uruguay).

Right - I'm off to break into the National Marine Aquarium with the season's fixture list and a sack of mussels. This time next year I'll be a millionaire.

So, how is this different from any other day in Amsterdam?
less fighting.

Actually, I think we got a better shot at beating spain than Germany.

Same here. So disappointed, it really looked like Germany was out of juice. Everytime they pressed the spanish a bit they were having good balls, but did it so little they ended up having almost no occasion to strike. And the spanish, with a couple of exceptions, were doing their usual "let's do a dozen passes even in the box till we find the perfect position" BS which is starting to bore me to death. I'd rather see Holland beat them, but have little hope considering their defense is nowhere near the level of Germany who held a long time but plowed. Fuckers cost me my WC earnings so far too grmbl. The octopus isn't predicting btw, he's deciding with his fearsome psychic powers. ALL HAIL THE HYPNOCTOPUS!

Great game!
Looking like a good final too. Although, I would have said that no matter who won today.

f*ck.
I'm working on Sunday...either I call-off like I'm sick or something or I go to work and get a 45 minute break which I can try to time to start at the exact time the second half starts.
WHAT SHOULD I DO

I'd call in sick, but you could just pray it doesn't go to extra time.
Or maybe time your break to coincide with the start of the game and just not show up again until it's over. Maybe you don't know what took so long, hasn't it only been 45 minutes, and have a tube of fake blood for your ears/nose/eyes/whatever.

What do you do? Would they get angry if you just told them you were taking the day off or something?
I'd call in sick if you have to lie though.
