I told Gabe that I did not want to play the game because it meant nothing to the tournament, and playing a couple privates when I'm bouncing around the border of being captain doesn't entice me much. Risk losing 25-30 pts for ~15? No thanks.
As far as seeding and future tournaments go, why not have a real tournament with real seeding? Have it single elimination, with real brackets similar to those of any basketball or tennis tournaments. As far as seeding goes, the best and easiest way to do it would be to add up the points of the two players, and rank them that way. Say there are 16 teams, have 2 of each seeds #1-8, and set it up with two brackets, winners of each side meeting in the championship.
That format is far better than random seeding and round robins. I'll partake in any future tournaments in that format.

The three brackets on the left are the different options for the final round. If all 5 teams make it through, then someone will have a bye, and it will then work like a normal bracket until 3 teams are left. Then there will be another round robin, like you played in the first round. If all teams are 1-1, then a final tie-breaker three way game will be played.
If only 4 get through then it will work like a normal bracket.
If 3 get through, that will mean that two of them were 2-0 in the 2nd round and the other was 1-1. The 2-0 teams will play each other for first, and the 1-1 team will win third.
Simple

To answer your question, if you go 2-0 then:
Option one would be eliminated
Option two would mean you got nothing special (sorry)
Option three would mean that you get to play for first
