Its not just the covert operations... Both Korea and Vietnam were wars of proxy where American troops died in the cold war fighting the spread of communism.

Thirty Years War in the 17th Century (or more the peace of Westphalia which ended it).
Ushered in the whole idea of sovereign nation states upon which pretty much all later wars depended. The nation-state institutionalised diplomacy and the military, and this European model was eventually to spread worldwide through colonialism. Sovereignty, and the right of nations not to be oppressed or influenced by foreign nations has been the route of pretty much all non-revolutionary or civil wars since then.

Very scary Gizzle. Glad we don't agree on #5 or we might be charged with being multis.

I often wonder how drastically the Greek invasion of Egypt has changed our world.
Egypt were a technological superpower in some respects and far behind in others.
Had they been alowed to grow and be more i wonder how different things would be today.
I wonder if the romans would have beaten egypt.
I only know a little about egypts wars but they do fascinate me

Bold- Beacuse it was when the communist where running over the world and every cont. counted in needing to be freed from the communists.
Bold- because it was when the imperialists were running over the world and every cont. counted in the fight for global freedom from the capitalists.
