The Most Underrated Sport?

Post by Joodoo »

Do you find that some sports you really like aren't seen as very important or interesting by many people?
I find that's the case for many field sports (ex.shotput, discus).

Well, watching someone shoot a shotput, is about as interesting as watching someone throw a discus. A kid out back just threw a rock at a squirrel or a chipmunk or something out back. That wasnt very interesting either. Now, if one of them picked up the dead chipmunk and ran around with it and the others tried to smash him to take it from him...I have to admit, I might have to see how that turned out.

Otherwise, people playing catch with the ground, isnt super entertaining. Im sure its just me though.
I'm Spanking Monkey now....err...I mean I'm a Spanking Monkey now...that shoots milk
Too much. I know.

Soccer. Football is the world's most popular sport, but for some reason, places that call it soccer barely care at all.

Crown Green Bowls! As mellow and yet skillful a pastime as you could wish for. Cruelly mocked by most people under the age of 65 but good fun ;)

I love all track and field events but quite a dfew of them don't get that much coverage, long jump and hammer for instance. Overall I would have to say Aussie Rules. Its one of the best sports I have ever seen and would rank it up there with football for entertainment and am very surprised that its not more popular outside of Australia (maybe the name?), but its so awesome.

and this has to do with the thread subject how so?
btw, in ireland and australia it's also called soccer... so not only are you in the wrong thread your statement is also wrong.

as for underrated sports, you can only really say what you think is underrated in your paticular crountry and i'd have to go with baseball.

As usual, I must apologize that I did not spell this out more completely, for the slower kids in the class.

Just out of curiosity, what did you think I meant, that made you think it was in the wrong thread?

Lacrosse is an awesome game to watch to me. The mixture of skill and physicality is great. Another sport rarely seen is badmitton, NOT the backyard varieaty, the real thing.

Hockey.

There was another sport in Florida that threw these balls at ridiculous speeds and you had to catch it/rebound and toss it back...I can't remembe the fuckin name of it!

WAT. Almost no one under 30 in America who grew up in the suburbs and had working legs DIDN'T play soccer as a kid. I have a cohesive group of friends who were all born in the USA and love the game.

You're stupid and I hate you.

Made somewhat famous in the 80s thanks to the opening credits of this TV show:
