How about this?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1833_terri ... n_of_Spain
49 provinces grouped (sorta) into "historic regions" - sound classic for a map.
One can also add a picture of of Don Javier de Burgos in the background.

What do you think?

It looks like a shirt, or maybe the upper torso of a body.

Lol.
The last Spain map to get pushed through ran into a number of problems which stopped it from making it all the way. Basically, it looked too much like the existing Iberia map... which is a major problem which faces any Spain map.

ok, new idea, then:
Europe as a bag of clothes - Italy a boot, Spain a shirt, etc.

Re: Spain 1833
anything spanish seems to hit the wall here.
the iberia map is pretty damn good too, so Its hard to go up against that.
The Reconquista map looks great, looks like it may play fine, but it has hit a series of sledghammers too.

I think there are a number of maps that can have Spain as the gameboard locale out there still. Imagine an Inquisition map? Or a Moorish Conquest/Conquest from the Moors.
