I think it's complaining about dropping the "gold standard".

Two questions.
A] Where did finland get the airplanes?
b] 400000+ missing. Did they get eaten, wander into the expansive Finnish forests, lost enroute, what the mullet?

a) Why wouldn't Finland have aeroplanes? I assume the allies supplied them with some throughout the war.
b) frostbite, mountains, guerilla attack, unaccounted for losses...consdidering the terrain and the war there should be a large amount of people missing.
Re: Demotivational Posters
The allies did not supply Finland with air planes as the Finns sided with Germany.
Re: Demotivational Posters
Your answer for b is even worse.
guy finding frostbitten soldier, "Captain, this guy has frostbite."
C.O. "Mark him down as 'lost' I guess."

If I was a Soviet soldier during WWII I would go 'missing' too. Better to run away than run back to your side and get shot for being a coward.

(War int his sense meaning the Winter War)
"At the beginning of the war, Finland had a very small air force, with only 114 combat planes fit for duty. Missions were very limited, and fighter aircraft were mainly used to repel Soviet bombers. Strategic bombings could also double as opportunities for military reconnaissance. Old-fashioned and few in number, aircraft could not offer support for Finnish ground troops. In spite of losses, the number of planes in the Finnish Air Force had risen by over 50% by the end of the war.[6]:607-608 The Finns received shipments of British, French, Italian, Swedish and American aircraft"
Sounds like the allies to me...

I meant death by cold weather with that, not just losing a toe to frostbite or w/e.

Well that's odd as the allies supplied Russia with planes and vehicles, so I guess we were at war with ourselves?????
Re: Demotivational Posters
Not until They joined forces. Russia initially made a treaty with Germany because Stalin wasnt really wanting to wage war with them. They just wanted to expand their land. Stalin didnt predict how powerful the Germans really were and how charmismatic Hitler was. We only teamed up after the Germans invaded Russia and almost made it to Moscow.
