how does admin scan for multiple accounts?
I'm just curious about this, cuz I'm all for nixing any cheaters. It seems that checking IP addys would be one way of going about it, but I was considering having a visiting friend play at my place with me, so we'd both be on the same hotspot. Would this raise eyebrows?

Obviously, because your IPs would match. However until someone reported you for your suspicious behaviour and they checked the game logs you wouldn't get banned. If you have a friend over the safe bet is not to play in the same game. If you play in the same game and ally together you risk being caught as a cheater.

admins will never share their detection tehniques. if they did, cheaters would improve their methods.

They take a lot more in consideration. If you have a friend over and he just takes his turns it would probably not make a difference. However if you 2 are taking most turns at the same time and at the same place that might create suspicions. The best advice is not to play in the same game if you play from the same PC.

Plus, Wicked goes undercover on the really big busts and somehow gets the information out of them... she never tells us how..
um, yeah, I have at least a hundred and fifty multis, spread out over the breadth of the scoreboard. I really need to be investigated to the fullest extent of wicked's abilities...

that's pathetic. who would take pride in being falsely perceived as the best?
maybe if there was money involved..
What exactly is pathetic?
A LOT of people who join the site have multiple accounts. If we posted our methods, then it would be possible for them to continue cheating and stealing points from honest players.

getting any sort of sense of accomplishment or pride by winning via unscrupulous methods is pathetic. it boggles my mind that anyone would go through the trouble just so a bunch of strangers would think they are good at playing a game.
if you thought i was criticizing you for the classified nature of your methods, sorry, i wasn't.

this is probably the game with the most cheaters i play online. you would not belive how many people create multiple accounts.
PS: i've become so suspicious that i think anybody is a possible multi. you for example. you have the perfect profile for a multi. your first post on the forum is about methods of catching cheaters, you have several games with 3 other accounts with which you also exchanged positive feedback multiple times thus artifficialy increasing the positive feedback number and your avatar is sexy. it'sclear as daylight you're a multi

I have friends on the site. We compete against eachoter, sometimes play teams.
I find it a little hard to believe that anyone can attain the highest ranks. There is SOME luck involved in this game, after all.

You'd be surprized. People will cheat at anything, even games where there is no winner. Since CC has points, I can only imagine the temptation some people would feel. Especially idiots that think OMG HAX are the only way to get high scores.bleu_falcon wrote:that's pathetic. who would take pride in being falsely perceived as the best?
As for the admin's methods... heh.

LOL
But seriously, one thing that will clear you is both having premium accounts. They will see two different names from two different credit cards, and know that you are two different people if IP address is the only thing indicating you're a multi.
Also, don't play games together where you aren't on the same team and other random people can join. This is almost always where multi reports come from, people blatantly do not attack their other accounts and the collusion becomes obvious.
There's a few other tricks I think they do, but DiM is right, posting them would just help cheaters improve their methods.

actually 2 premiums does not prove you're not a multi.
i can make 2 accounts and ask 2 friends to buy preamium for each of my accounts. 2 different names on credit cards but only one cheater.

Well, I agree, but we're assuming the original poster actually ISN'T a multi, and so the common IP address would be the only indicator. In the absence of other factors (which we're assuming there would be none) I don't think that would be enough to suspect 2 premium accounts.
Besides, I really don't see a lot of cheaters coughing up the $20 when their dubious goals can be accomplished for free. Plus it's at least gratifying that it's costing them real money to do.
