Queen. i Understand your frustration because i too, as a member have seen great ideas die. I know you post quite a bit in this forum, and are very dedicated to your suggestions. Our vote does not have more weight than yours. All you can do for a suggestion, is ask other individuals to come give their input.


I'm just saying that there has been a lot of commentary from the moderators...and most of you seem to support an increase to 9. However, the vote in the poll shows greater support from the community for 12. The poll was added, but once the results started to show support for 12, the moderators all jumped on the "lets just leave it to lackattack to decide" bandwagon. I know you all are volunteers and I fullly respect that. I just hope that you all understand that when your name has a standout color and under your avatar there is a title...what you write in these threads now carries more weight than the weight of the poster from the member class.

QH, even if the polls supported 9, I would have said the same thing "Let's see what Lack says", as he does have the power to decide. He may still only input 9 instead of 12. I just thought it would have been simpler for 9. But it is apparent that 12 is the majority.

I didn't vote for 9, I voted for 10, your deductive logic doesn't quite work but is interesting nevertheless.

This is excluding testing of extra singles games (9p, 10p, 11p, 12p).

12 is a massive jump in terms of complexity and testing because of the number of extra combinations, gametypes and medals.
Having said that 9 doesn't give CC users much to cheer about - just a single extra combination which doesn't exactly qualify for a decent upgrade.
10 not only gives several new combinations, but it also gives a new gametype and a medal which does constitute a worthwhile upgrade.

Now let's check back. The last upgrade was from 6 to 8 which must have involved a new gametype+medal for quads and extra combinations in 2v2v2v2 , 4v4, and 7 and 8 player singles.

To upgrade directly to 9 needs only checking 3v3v3 and 9p singles.
To upgrade directly to 10 needs 2v2v2v2v2, 3v3v3, 5v5 + quintuples gametype/medal and 9 and 10 player singles.
This is in the same order as the last upgrade so this is the reasoning behind my vote.

You can see from my post above that a jump to 12 requires a heavy amount of work.

That is why people are deferring because it is lack doing all the work currently. I think 10 is a reasonable compromise between the amount of work for lack and the resultant user experience.

Ok just to further be a goof. What is a potential problem in adding a player? There doesn't seem to be an issue with the battle royals and how many are they? (colour coding aside)

My opinion:

Ok as far as i see it 9 players would mean very little difference from 8 players. I voted for 12 however if this is a large workload then I would love to see 10 players first.

With 10 players you get many more new options as well as it being a bigger jump for large singles games.

Proposal ideas:

I don't think everyone is going to agree, however I think the majorities* wish is that as many players as is viable to be added at once should be added. Didn't andy say that we werent to worry about coding complexity when considering suggestions, lets leave that to lack/other admin to decide. So i say leave the final proposal as "Up the number of players", rather than "Up the limit to X number of players".



*Those voting for 12 and 10 may need to form a coalition to avoid a minority desicion ;)

Nobody wants to discuss what this will do for those who organize tournaments with the sole purpose of gaining the stupid little plaque? with 12 players in one game, and a 12 player minimum for starting a tourny, it'd mean possible 1 game tournaments. this I disapprove of.

So, the tourney directors will have to change some rules. Big deal. Compared to the coding to create 12 player games that is a drop in the bucket. Seriously, how long will it take them to change 1 rule? All they have to do is up the minimum to 16 (I doubt anyone will argue that is unfair).

If you are going to read the New Tournament Minimum Requirements, please do so properly.

Looks like the increase to 12 players is far and away the recommendation of the community. Great job community on getting together and voting for what YOU want!
