*you can probably guess what I was going to put here*

As for exercising, I play football at least 4 times a week. Although I am a keeper, so not much running is required 8)

I used to work out for about an hour, 5 times a week, but I hated it and it made me too tired so I quit.

My main source of exercise is also my primary source of transportation: my own two feet. I walk to and from work, out to eat, to the package store. I only drive long distances or when I need to carry around heavy things.

Probably one of the better workouts available. Make sure you pace yourself.

At any given moment I could tell you my weight, BF%, RHR, %water, lean muscle mass, visceral fat, bone mass, DCI, BMI, VO2max and probably a few other body statistics, because I keep track of each (some daily) and log them along with my workouts.

So....important

Exercise is very important to me. I run every day, lift free weights 4 days a week, do 2 circuit sessions a week and have rugby training twice a week.

Then a game on Saturday, football on Sunday (though that's more of a joke), tennis and I ride at least once a week too.

Plus as much sex as I'm allowed :-)

Sex is actually amazing exercise, it works every single muscle group. Also, for the ladies, faking an orgasm burns almost 3 times the calories as actually having one.

I've been helping girls loose weight :-)

JeeBus man! Where do you go to measure your VO2 Max? I'm into distance running and was always curious how I stacked up to the freaks of nature like Lance Armstrong.

(I know Lance is a cyclist, it's just that he's known for having a phenomenal VO2 max)

No surprises with your answer, then.

I do that kind of weight training 1-3 times a week depending on finances. Don't do any formalised exercise, but I don't drive so I get plenty of walking in anyway.

Also do sit-ups about once a month; if I can't do 25 without getting out of breath/stopping then I'll do them every day until I can do 30-35 without stopping. Just keeps me at a level ...

I hate to say this but i am not so disimilar from Spuzznell.

Excorsise is extremely important to me.
Partly for image i have to admit but mostly because i like feeling good.
I like being able to run and do sports or whatever and not get knackerd after 5 minutes.

I do a lot of kung fu etc (i wrote it all in another thread)
And before i was with my girlfriend as much sex as i could get.

Now i get as much sex as i could want :)

Well its the only one that I listed that I don't actually have a true measure of

VO2 max is a measure of how your body transports and uses oxygen during excercise. As Auto hinted, endurance athletes have the highest VO2max (runners, swimmers, bikers, rowers, xc skiiers, etc). Lance Armstrong was one of the highest ever, but I believe the record is held by a cross country skiier.

Anyway, it is measured by running on a treadmill with a large bag that captures all of the air you are inhaling and exhaling. The test progressively gets harder and faster and the lab will print results of how well your body utilizes oxygen. I've never actually had that done, which is why I was incorrect before (though I know a few runners who have been tested, you just need to find a lab and have some cash).

There is a test you can do on a track involving some number of 400 repeats I believe. That's the one that I've done, but I believe that is actually a measure of your VDOT (if you are familiar with Daniel's Running formula Autoload, that is the easiest way to approximate your VO2max, and the only way I have done it.)

The VDOT system is designed to tell you what paces to run various races based on a system similar to VO2max, but it doesn't give you an actual reading of ml/kg/min (ml of oxygen per kilogram of body weight per minute).

Most of my exercise has consisted of walking to and from the telly to change the channel in the last few months. Foolishly, though, I applied and have been accepted to do the Great North Run half-marathon this Sep (or Oct) for a charity, so it looks as though I'll be getting hot, sweaty, and bothered every second day for the next six months.

Wow, men usually aren't so proud about not being able to give a woman an orgasm.

Good luck with that!

But a month or two from now, don't be afraid to start running every day or at least 5-6 a week. Every other day isn't the best training for a half marathon unless you're supplementing it with other equivalent activity (biking or swimming) to reduce stress on the joints.

CHeers, though I should say I wasn't really planning to run every second day for the whole period, especially not when I get back up to 10-mile runs. There are plenty of runners (or "nutters") who DO that, but, rest assured, not I.

Plus, I'm only intending to train up enough so I can run the whole thing (fairly) comfortably, and beat my last time 5 years ago. I won't say what that time was, because

a) I'm too scrupulous to lie and,

b) I'm too embarrassed to tell.
