Chuuuuck, no offense, but, how can you go outside the CUP format? if you do 60 games, then you need to make it so for all clans involved, not just your match up. I also would suggest if you want 60 games outside of this 40, then go ahead if both clans agree and set up a 60 game challenge and also keep this one at 40, so there is 2 different challenges. The 40 for the CUP and the 60 outside of the CUP. You just cannot change yours all of a sudden at 60 and no one else's, make sense?
I am open to making the games longer when the clans get down to 8 or 4 left.
So, do you think when you get down to the final 8 teams that all should play 60? Final 4 teams, all play 80? Championship 100? Just throwing out a suggestion. What do others think?
I'd say it sounds like a quite good idea. But discuss it in the CC thread, not here.

done!
And I'll reply with the same response from the other thread -

So: 40 games for the challenges in this upcoming round, and 60 each for the last two.

or could the final 2 teams propose this or be discussed and agreed upon prior to that happening?
a championship of 60 games is far better than 40 in my view.
According to the Rules, the semi-finals and finals are to be comprised of 60 games.
The Rules wrote:Clan wars in the first and second round of the Conqueror's Cup will use the following format:
- 40 total games - 2 1v1 matchups (best of 5) - 12 doubles - 14 triples - 12 quads - Each clan member can only participate in 15 games per clan war - Each clan will pick the map and settings for exactly half of the games - Each map can only be used twice per clan per clan war but can only be used once per game type (i.e. once for triples and once for quads) - There will be no freestyle, speed, manual deployments, beta maps, or nuclear spoils games allowed
The semi-finals and finals of the Conqueror's Cup will use the following format:
- 60 total games - 4 1v1 matchups (best of 5) - 18 doubles - 20 triples - 18 quads - Each clan member can only participate in 20 games per clan war - Each clan will pick the map and settings for exactly half of the games. - Each map can only be used twice per clan per clan war but can only be used once per game type (i.e. once for triples and once for quads) - There will be no freestyle, speed, manual deployments, beta maps, or nuclear spoils games allowed
Sorry if I upset you blitz. I wasn't trying to go beyond any rules. Our upcoming battle just seemed to be a pretty heated 1 and Empire simply asked KoRT if they would like to extend it to 60 games. I told them when we asked we would have to still meet the schedule and finish when everyone else did and they politely declined due to having a lot on their plates. I didn't see this as a problem but maybe it was inappropriate and I am sorry.
Thanks fizzy for answering about the later rounds. And to answer your question in more detail blitz, I am okay with the final 2 or final 4 agreeing to make it bigger. The cup is set up fr everyone's enjoyment so as long as everyone agrees, I have no problems. If people don't agree then we always default back to the OP.

I am not upset my friend, I guess I forgot about that where you mentioned if both clans agree, the games could be extended, so sounds like that is within the format. I am ok with this. Great job in all the work you put into this Chuuuuck and gl in the next round, the match ups are becoming increasingly more challenging.
With TOFU's victory becoming decisive, we will move on to the next round to ensure we get a break over the summer like so many have asked for. The first batch of games will need to be sent 2 weeks from today, on May 11th. Games will then need to be joined by May 15th. The 2nd round of games will need to be sent by May 29th and Joined by June 2nd. All of these dates will be updated in the original post. Please let me know of any questions!
Culs De Sac wrote:Just curious....What constitutes a summer break? No Cup games from mid june-late august?
We will talk about exact dates as the next round winds down. Many players have thought it was a good idea with not very many against it. It will probably be a break of approximately 1 month (maybe a little more) after the next round ends.
All us World Cup freaks ( like you, freak) will be made up if we can put our feet up and watch the games without having to worry about whether we forted enough to protect the Kuomintang bonus. June/July break is perfect timing if you ask me.

Yes, good thinking. I will still send 1 today to make sure everyone sees it.
Can you please make sure the 2nd round threads are updated for the final scores so that the clan directors and add them to the results, and I'd like to add them to the new ladder coming soon.
