I drink instant coffee. They come in several flavours like vanilla and chocolate. I like the vanilla best.

Re: Coffee Party
Starbucks preferred. Fill to 12 with water, 5 scoops of decaf, one scoop of regular....sometimes 1.5 scoops of regular.
It allows me to drink a few cups of coffee, with nearly the caffeine effect of just one.
If ordered at starbucks...usually decaf red-eye.

Back in the DDR in the early '70's the 9th Farmers' Congress innovated a delicious product called Mischkaffee. This was 51% coffee and 49% oats and beetroot. Unfortunately it was discontinued around '79 or '80 but was definitely a delicious treat - it may sound questionable but it was wonderful, like a dessert coffee!

Tea is the way forward. When historians look back on the decline and fall of the US empire, they will date that decline from one day in Boston in 1773 when a small group of terrorists protested against cheaper tea prices by engaging in environmental pollution while dressed to incite racial tension.
Least, that's how I was taught it went.

Re: Coffee Party
Tea's good, but this is a coffee thread, sir.
I like to let my coffee grinds steep in a pot for about half an hour or an hour. Sometimes, after that, I just steep em for the long-term overnight in the fridge, dump the grinds in the pot, and filter it out as I pour it.
Gets nice and thicker than usual. Good when refrigerated. And good god, it's stronger than that weak stuff at any mediocre Fast-Coffee joint like Starbucks.
Be a Man--or woman--and support your local coffee shops and/or coffee producers.

Re: Coffee Party
They changed the coffee servers at work, so I drink more than I used to (used to drink almost exclusively tea, now it is a combination, although breakfast blend tea always starts my day).

Usually 0. That way when I'm writing an essay a single large coffee gives me a big boost.
Re: Coffee Party
Well, I sometimes use a french press, brews delicious coffee. But I also have a espresso machine and make double espresso with sugar, until a couple of weeks ago I couldn't drink it with sugar, but now I like it.
This machine can make lattes or cappuccinos, but I don't make those often.
I use regular toast for the espressos tho, not espresso toast.
I'm a lover of coffee, when I drink one around 7pm I'm awake until 4 am and I really love night time, don't know why, I always have. Reading, researching, thinking, watching movies...

You are the only interesting poster on ConquerClub. I find the composition of each of your missives literary in style, verbiage and flow. I would pay up to €9 for a bound book of your posting history. You must come lunch with me in Tecate sometime.

... Eggshells, from hard-boiled eggs (never raw eggs!), put in the grounds before brewing cuts the acid content and changes (generally improves) the tatse.
... I like it, but don't eat enough eggs to drink such coffee regularly.
... Also, I'm talking about standard Folgers type coffees and similar. Doing such to expensive gourmet coffees would probably ruin the cup.
... Vietnamese coffee is very good.

cant you use the shells from raw eggs, if you cook the egg shells, technically? Interesting idea though, never heard of it, and dont need it at home since I do drink the better coffees....usually....but now perhaps ill carry some eggshells in my pockets for other peoples coffees that are sub par.
Or perhaps it would be better to carry them in my shoes.

I see what you did there, AAFitz.
I'll spare you, but I probably spend about 1/3 my food budget on coffee. I can scrimp on food, but I gotta have my Fair Trade organic beans in the morning
v EDIT: and afternoon, and 3 in the morning during finals.

I appreciate the compliment coming from such a poster who always find the most creative way to express opinions. However, I worry that you might be robbed paying a good amount of euros for my posts, since not always I have the luck of expressing my ideas in a good literary style.
I thank your invitation for lunch and I'll consider it next time I'm on the region.
However, your post made me blush since I've always have had the intention of writing a book, and whether I ever get to write it or not, you fed my wandering wish again.
You'd be on the dedication page.

N - your words have an Hemingway-like "gritty elegance" and you demonstrate a command of English surpassing even many native speakers of the nouveau Frisian tongue who inhabit ConquerClub. (saving, of course, Symmetry who excels in composed English)
I once almost started the Nazim Hikmet ConquerClub Literary E-Journal to celebrate "flash short" stories submitted by users. Perhaps I shall reinvigorate that effort given such an omnibus of writing talent floating about these boards. Stay tuned!
