Spitze, ich wuesste nicht dass es andere Deutsch studenten gibt. Ich habe Deutsch nach fumf jahren gelernt (bis AP, ich weiss nicht was die selbe waere in England). Ein Deutsch Forum waere toll.

my friends dong that and shes finding it really hard. I'm glad I didnt take frnch aswell

Was ist ein "GSCE"? Ich bin ein Amerikaner und weiss nicht was das meint. Ist es wie unsere AP, wo es ist wie ein Universitaet Klasse die in ein gymnasium ist?

yeah, GCSE's are the compulsory exams you have to take at 16, then you have an option to go on to 6th form, college, etc and do A-levels or equivalent for two years, then you can go to university at 18 (or take a gap year).
thanks, i'm pretty ignorant about the UK education system, here the closest thing to that are SATs and SAT IIs (subject tests). Even AP tests don't matter all that much since not every school offers AP courses anyway. Colleges just care what grade you get in the class and what level of the class you're taking.

Ich auch. My night school teacher was from Austria and I remember learning the "ch" sound as a hard sound that I can't think of a comparison in English for. But, on some tapes I've listened to it comes out "Ish aush". Any thoughts? Is this just a regional thing?

I'm no expert here, but different regions have their own accents and dialects. Austria and Bavaria being very different from the others.
