                  Final Forge

---The Space map* has reached the ‘Final Forge’ Stage. I've revived this thread from the pits of the Foundry furnace and have examined the contents. Nearly every major concern has been addressed. If there are any other current concerns, please make your voice heard. There will be two days for you to post any objections; if no one has posted any protest after two days the map will be deemed finished with the 'Foundry Brand' of approval and will be submitted for live play. If after two days there is still discussion going on it may continue until said discussion has reached the conclusion that the map has reached its final and polished version.

Post questions and concerns if any.

*(Note: most maps won't go through such a long waiting period as this map and the Ireland map.)

I still think the stations would be a bad thing in team games... But it seems no one thinks that beyond me...

I do admit that what Marvaddin says may well be true: this map may be impractical for team games. On the other hand, I think that the stations will add an interesting new strategic element to standard games, and I feel that the trade-off is worthwhile.

It's another twist for team games...

Whilst impractical, it puts forward the question of who needs a continent bonus more, and would force some more tactical descisions. I'd be willing to play it as a team map, it's different.

                  Quenching

The Final Forge period has concluded for the Space Map. All objections have had their time. The Foundry and I hereby brand this map with the Foundry Brand. Let it be known that this map is now ready for live play (barring any Lack vetoes).
Conquer Club, enjoy!

(Note to Cartographers: PM me when there is a general consensus in the Foundry that your map is ready for the 'Final Forge' stage, incase I miss a thread. Also make sure to look at the 'How To Create A Map' sticky.)

is it supposed to be where if you control a wormhole in an area but an opponent controls the rest of that area they don't get the continet bonus but if you control a warpgate and an opponent controls teh rest they do get teh bonus?

The wormholes are warp gates are not a part of the systems they're connected to. The wormholes are a continent by themselves that does not overlap any other continent, and the same is true for the warp gates.

I must say, this map reminds me of the Crossword map in its confusing look, but it sure does look pretty, can't wait to play it, I'm waiting on 3 other players at the moment.

Yes, it looks more confusing than I could imagine before. I think that te systems are a bit nearer than they should, maybe. But its ok until now.

Did you have Inkling Station? That's definitely required to get the bonus. If it's game #29181, then it looks (from the log) like you may not have had Inkling at the start of your turn at any point.

then is it you need either the inkling station or the wormhole, cuz I've gotten the bonus without having the inkling station before and yes it is 29181.

edit: Oops, looks like the bonus I had gotten wasn't for arda it was for the wormhole system.

Continental bonuses

Post by Lupo »

I would like to know why Arda and Fae have the same bonuses and instead Arda and Narnia have a different bunus.
It seems like Arda is the best continent to hold between these three.
what's your opinion about?

Best continent can vary. Take FAE...it shares a station with Sol...a continent someone will not likely get early, so you don't have to worry about fighting back and forth for a bonus...

Look at Arda...if someone gets Narnia...and another person gets Arda...slightly harder to keep the bonus, as there isn't the 'no contest' as there is with Fae...

To Andy: Can u plz change the title of this map so that it doesnt have 'New Map' in it. I read it thinking it is a new map of space, click it and find it only an old map. Thnx Gavin.

Edit: I realise that it says Quenched on it, but for some reason i overlook it too often.
