I mean, scrap the autodeploy, and make the bonus on Arras & Brugge dependent on holding a larger bonus. This will reduce their power.

Having Ieper and Gent giving +2 autodeployed seems too much for me, that will make them as important as Arras and Brugge. Why not taking the autodeployed bonus down to +1?

Ieper and Gent are +1 autodeployed...and it stays like that, the question was about Brugge and Arras :?:

Ahhh right, sorry for the confusion. Brugge is attacked by 2 territories and Arras from 5 so my suggestion would be something like:
+2 autodeployed on Arras
+1 autodeployed on Brugge

Sorry MrBenn, just saw your message too late. I'll soon post a version with the starting neutrals (Brugge and Arras with a neutral 5, Other capitals like Gent, Ieper, etc...starts with a neutral 3)

This is the new version, I decided to split Brugge and Arras from other regions.
Fumandomuerte said it right, Brugge can only be attacked by 2 regions and Arras by 5, but that makes Brugge interesting and Arras hard to capture...Why not? I think the map is well balanced enough, but all suggestion welcome!

Isn't it looking too clean for a medieval map? it's not a commercial for a cleaner...I'm not sure of it, but I need to make it enough distinctive...but on the other hand this is maybe too much, it's all coming very 'much', i guess; colors, details...
what do you guys think?

France 1789 has a single autodeploy that starts with 4 neutrals and often goes untouched during early stages of the game. With so many single autodeploys around, I'd rather see them at 2 neutrals to encourage them to be brought into play a little earlier.

true, but on the other hand, the other capitals starts also with a 2 neutral, and they only come up with an 1 auto-deploy...make it a +2 for capitals and a +3 for Brugge/Arras?

Arras provides a better place to expand from, and I imagine it'll be more utilised than Brugge. My gut instinct would be to leave the capitals at +1, and stick with 3 neutrals on them. I'd be inlicined to leave Brugge/Arras at +2, and have 4 neutrals on Brugge to start, and 5 on Arras.

, but don't worry, its the version taht you like that is the most reliable (it's the PNG Version 14 itself).
The version with the neutral start is just a screenshot of V14, from the XML wizard. so that can explain a colorchange...or something like that. I didn't changed the PNG of version 14.

I'm finding the bridge shadow a bit distracting, sticking out to the side like that. Is there another direction we can send it in, or perhaps reduce it?

Hmm, Graphic discussion was closed already a time ago. We worked on the bridges by adding and removing the shadows, changing the direction, adding a transparency...We changed the color of the bridges etc. but this worked the best on this map.
Check out the older version in the first post.
If there is a version of the bridges you participially like, let me know which one and I see what I can do,

I like the version without any shadow best, as I can't tell if the others are much different from one another.

And are the two tiny white dots at the top of the bridge supposed to be there?

It doesn't matter. There will appear a lot of more tiny dots when the map gets converted to jpg for lackattack to upload it...

That's ok. Not many new mapmakers know about it, it should be more clearly "advertised" somehow, IMO...
