I am not from USA so not so familiar with NCAA RPI system and format of competition, but I allways wondered throughout the season why am I better placed than someone with lower score than mine. maybe you may put not only record but also exactly number of RPI near all the teams, so we may see how we are far away from up and down placed teams. or you may do it only on final standings, if it requires too much time from you.

anyway, my opinion is that scoring system is good. if somebody look at the current RPI standings, in most it follows record of the teams. it is because when you play 30 games, record of your opponents will be very well averaged, I think something between 0.45-0.55, so points 2 and 3 will not make noticed input to the final RPI. but fact is, who had harder opponents, he could harder achieve win, so finally on the end of competition that disadvantage neutrals with RPI formula.
for example, my team (Memphis) got advantage because RPI formula. but, I played vs East Carolina(1), Kansas(4), Gonzaga(6), George Mason(8) from the top and only Syracuse (181) and Rice (162) from down, so I think it was much harder to me to achieve good record, and formula gives me the chance to neutral that hard schedule.

Memphis won vs UTEP in semifinal game of USA Conference, so it will be final game between East Carolina and Memphis, two leaders according to RPI.

btw, does conference games also count for RPI point system?

The conference tournament games do not count for RPI. They likely do in real life (I'm honestly not sure), but I've got them in a different spreadsheet, so they won't for this tournament ;)
