Anger Management 6 Critical Steps to a Calmer Life by Peter Favaro, PHD
Yeah, I recognize it so I got a book.
2 types
Frustration driven anger
Predatory anger
I would fall into the former.
remember..... L.A.S.T.

Re: Anger Management
I took a course of it.
It helps, but it's something you need to practice on an ongoing basis until it gets ingrained as learned behavior.

So what's "Predatory" anger? It's got a kind of ring to it . . .

Re: Anger Management
When I was released from NY after my unlawful unjustifiable incarceration I felt good. Real good. You pay your dues in life and deally it's a learning experience and you grow from it but then the HEAT kept coming the f*ck down! Despite the enormouty of my contributions to the grand scheme of things..

Yeah, that's what the book says.
b.k. barunt wrote:So what's "Predatory" anger? It's got a kind of ring to it . . .
It's anger and aggression people use to create feelings of satisfaction. "These are the most dangerous of all angry people." They use anger as a technique "used to compete, persuade, manipulate, control and intimidate others."

Re: Anger Management
Step 1: Be aware of what you're doing. Keep in mind the times when you are becoming angry
Step 2: Here's are some ways to cool yourself down while you are or have reached a certain point of anger: breathing techniques, yadayadayadayada.
Step 3: If your CC name is jay_a2j, avoid all conversations regarding these topics: politics, global warming, religion.
Step 4: Eventually, you'll learn to take things in stride, not being so serious all the time and realize how funny things can be.
Good luck, jay. It's always a good thing to see someone take the steps to improve themselves. Just like an AA meeting: congratulations for admitting to your anger management problem, and for beginning the journey to successfully control it.

Seems to me that Frustrated Anger would inevitably evolve into Predatory Anger - unless of course one enjoys remaining frustrated.

Re: Anger Management
Thanks BBS.
I get angry and yell but I can yell all day long without the slightest inkling to get physical. I also use sarcasm when I'm angry and this, as I've learned, escalates the situation. The book shed some light on how to de-escalate a situation that can get out of control.
Now to read, Behold A Pale Horse.

Now behold, the leading authority in the world in psychology, only sane person in the world with any REAL power, a person who spent the last 3 years helping to run the fucking planet, a person that needs that check TODAY. Has had it up to his eyeballs with the nonsense insanity and bullshit that just isn't stopping and it's just getting worse. A person who's already sustained an enormous amount of damage. It's time to get on with things. I've done all that I could do said all that I could say under these circumstances. We are just about done here. Trust my judgement that's all I got left. Alot of work that needs be done and I straight up CAN'T do it now no matter what, I'm tooo wounded.

I like to escalate situations.
I never met a person who was angry enough to yell that wouldn't get physical if you laughed at their yelling. If i reach the yelling point i've also reached the point where i'm quite ready for violence. My wife's the only one who can get me to that point and i'll usually hit some inanimate object to defuse. I've never hit her in 37 years of marriage and only came close a couple of times when she hit me, so i guess i've got it under control.

Never! I prefer to lie outright, and then laugh at people for believing me.
Simple pleasures, and all that.

Howabout smoking cigarettes and/or drinking alcohol in front of kids? Both have been proven to be more harmful than weed. Did you just watch "Reefer Madness"?

Perhaps the pot will make you less aggressive and thus less violent. Or maybe that's a bad thing.

don't get me wrong, i would be all for legalising weed in britain. i don't smoke it myself but worked in holland for four years and think their system works.
i'm talking about somebody that comes online and bigs it up on a site where you'd expect kids to be. whether it's true what he says or not is irrelevant.
