Cc users' control panels should allow them to choose to block or hide any or all of other users' avatars.
Specifics:
Some avatars are vile, rude, headache-inducing, or simply not pleasing to the eye. Users should be given the option to hide selected users' avatars so that they don't have to look at them in the forums or on users' walls. I would choose to block [player]eddie2[/player]'s first.

hi sorry had that on while somthing was happening back to normal now
Lol, so apparently I can induce change through my suggestion report! Thanks for changing that eddie...
Thanks for the advice Andy, but after installing it, I can't get it to work for me. Maybe some tech savvy user can help me figure out this user script?
I still think this will be a great option for Cc despite the availability or a heretofore unknown functioning userscript...

I'll type this slowly. If I don't like someones avi I DO NOT LOOK AT IT.
The one time I have foed one was when Timminz had that headache - seizure inducing avi.
That's all I was saying.
As for this sugg. Why not. Peeps can already block sigs. Give em a choice.
This post was made by jefjef who should be on your ignore list.

I believe you're joshing me!
In all seriousness, I'm not for this. I may not like [player]General Stoneham[/player]'s avatar, for example, but it's not like blocking it makes it cease to exist. It's also not like that one montage is the only sexually demeaning image of women in this world. There's a whole family of Kardashian's I'd have to tackle to really make a difference in that arena.
I know I'm lofty, but I prefer to have conversations about why things are offensive rather than just ban stuff, with the exceptions of a few absolutely offensive images and words that have no place in polite society or cc. Every once in awhile someone will rethink their position-even me!

But this isn't about banning avatars. It's about making them so that you individually don't have to look at them...a far different thing.

This may be a question of semantics. I see this as a ban from someone's own little universe. The same way foeing someone is banning them from playing you.

Actually foeing someone "bans" people from joining a game that you are in... it doesn't ban them from playing you.

My dear own lovely [player]squishyg[/player], avatars such as the GENERAL'S are in no way demeaning to women. If anything it hoists them upon a platform as something to be sought after and held in awe. Well, that's the way I sometimes see it. Women are wonderful creatures (sometimes ) who I will never fully understand.

Control Panel -> Board Preferences -> Edit Display Options. Display Avatars and Display Signatures. Makes the forum a helluva lot cleaner to look at.
