Congrats!
Surprising that your opponents failed to team up to stop you so early. I expected this to at least go to the Fog rounds.
FYI - a couple of the other continents are still on their 2nd game, so there will be a bit of a wait for the finals.

OCEANIA FALLS TO QUEENSLAND
After 7 bloody battles, the war in Oceania reached its chaotic end as 3 equally matched armies put it all on the line in an epic showdown. An early favorite after winning 2 battles in the first 3 games, sugc7 found himself in danger of elimination as adam666 & nemrehs1 gained ground under the Fog of War. In the end 148 armies marched across the region to cement his place as emperor of Oceania.

Re: Global Takeover I - Battle for Continents
AFRICA GETS SMALLER, EUROPA GETS BIGGER
After winning a key battle, the Christian power faction of Africa (Soldier4Christ) mysteriously withdrew from the African continent leaving just 3 potential emperors to wrestle for power.
Meanwhile, Western Europe stole a victory from Central European forces when their full fledged offensive sputtered against Benelux. This leaves Europe in a 4 way power grab and on the brink of a takeover.

EUROPA FALLS TO WESTERN FORCES
Western Europe clashed with the UK in the final battle for Europa. Central forces missed a key opportunity early in the game and found themselves overcome by a full force assault from Western Europe, who then took out Benelux. UK wouldn't fall so easily, nearly victorious several times during the seesaw battle, but ultimately falling to uckuki's 75+ armies. General uckuki attibuted the success to "keeping a low profile" and "staying alive".
Global Warfare is heating up as battles across South America & Africa also come to a head.

Just finished Game 6954509. That should give three wins and the advance to next round. I think?

CARIBS INVADE SOUTH AMERICA
After 6 back and forth battles, the United Caribbean Nations finally wrestled control of South America at the command of General Shaneback. The war was close - with only the independent nation of Haiti failing to win a battle.

AFRICA FALLS TO THE MIDDLE EAST
Mehmed II squashed the African resistance movement to wrestle control of Africa.
GLOBAL WAR IMMINENT!
It all began when small, regional conflicts broke out across the globe. These conflicts spilled over into battles for entire continents. Now, the most powerful leaders in the world - generals, dictators, kings and revolutionaries - are hungry for global power. The following World Wars will leave only one of them standing. The one who masters the land, the sea, the weather, the politics, the hearts & minds of future generations. The first global emperor.

Re: Global Takeover I - World War!
African and Oceanic forces were unable to gain a foothold on any of the six battlefronts and now weakened, Mehmed II and sugc7 must defend their respective countries against the remaining powers. If they succeed in defending their continent, they will continue battle in World War II. If they fail, they are eliminated and the war rages on without them.
GLOBAL WAR ERUPTS!!!

Re: Global Takeover I - World War!
Africa and Oceania fall to South America and Asia (respectively).
World War II begins as Emperor Alvi3732 looks to further grow his empire.

Re: Global Takeover I - World War II
I'm considering adding a little stipulation to give incentive to the winner of the "invasion" games, beyond simply eliminating an opponent.
The incentive would be that, if they are eliminated from their original continent, they can re-enter (with a blank slate) as a continent they invaded and conquered.
Basically a "second chance" at the tournament, but having to start from scratch.
For example, if Alvi3732 is eliminated, whoever wins the "invasion" match will own Asia. Should that person be eliminated later, they can re-enter as Asia, but have no battles won on record.
Likewise, Alvis3732 would be able to re-enter as Oceania and shaneback as Africa, if eliminated.
I like this idea because it gives each person a reason to play for themselves in an invasion round rather than just teaming up on a person. If a player conquers a whole continent, they should have something to show for it.
Any strong opposition to this?

Re: Global Takeover I - World War II
I agree with it. Mainly because I like 4 player games more than anything else and this will keep it at that. It will make it a longer tournament though....

Re: Global Takeover I - World War II
Here is the updated standings...
Shaneback has taken control of Asia & Africa
Alvi was chased out of Asia but gets a second chance to start from Oceania
Sportsgod needs only a victory on Classic & High Seas to become world global emperor.

This next round is all Fog of War & Escalating.
If any game has not been decided by the 20th round, a new game on that same map will be sent out with Nuclear spoils.

This tournament thread has not been visibly updated in a while. By “visibly updated” I mean that the thread has not been bumped for at least 2 months by posting a new post or reply.
We routinely check the last few pages of the “Ongoing Tournaments” Forum for inactive tournaments. If your tournament thread is on those last pages, we have to check to see if your tournament is still active, which can be quite a lot of work.
Please help us in our quest to find inactive tournaments and update your thread regularly and then also post that you have updated it (if your tournament is still active). This will get the active threads and tournaments bumped to the first page, and significantly lessen our workload of checking for inactive tournaments.

This tournament is still active, the remaining players tend to deadlock games, but we are nearing the end.

Re: Global Takeover I - World War III
Sportsgod24 inched closer to global domination with a win on Classic.
Having failed to win a battle during WWIII, shaneback now stands to lose his home empire of South America.
Once the fate of South America is settled, WWIV will begin!
