Ah, I didn't get to see this one play out! What happened? I saw you take some points there at the end! Well done! Sully left me to contemplate these things. I must take them in and see what I have learned.

Also good study material if you want stratagy advice:

Art of War, Sun Tzu

Military Maxims, Napolean

Famous battles of the Napoleaonic wars. Try Wikipedia for the best results!

I won the game in question.

I built a mass of troops on Rohan because no one ever really attacked me because I didn't make myself a threat until I was too strong for them to attack. After building a critical mass on Rohan, I spread south and held the yellow and red continents, then wiped out the rest of the players. This was the only game I've ever seen won on this board by starting in Rohan.

Using the advice I received in this thread I've won 5 consecutive Standard games, and 6 of my last 8.

Omg sully, what you've done is amazing! By the way, since seeing this post, I've won my last 6 games - I'll be a captain soon! You should go in for that n00b coaching thing that joeyjordison talked about a while back.

Edit: Actually, not just n00bs - people like me too - I'm now a relatively experienced player and I had played quite a lot of risk before I joined.

I have benefitted but not as much as these guys. I am on a 3 or 4 game lose streak!=(

I think I will blame bad position and bad rolls.

In one game I had taken Wicked out, except for one territory. I had a 4-1 there and lost. Now I am in for another lose if something big doesn't happen!

Streaks do seem to happen don't they. I bet that I will go on a 100 or 200 point slide down now knowing my luck. Life is undoubtedly very cruel

I have to agree. Sully, you rock...hard. I have taken these tips and put them to good use, too! Now maybe I can stay about 1000!
