1) Publish dice stats to prove that they are random.

That'd be mostly useless. The noobs would just shout conspiracy theories, of made up statistics and whatnot... the dice analyzer works just fine, and when people get to tally up the results themselves they won't get the chance to claim that the admin is screwing with the results.

2) Display attack results in the game log.

Well, I'm going to respond like the people who say "we want better services, but we don't want to pay more taxes for them"... Sure, attack results in game log would be nice, but not if it taxes the server too much, increasing lag.

3) Hack the dice to make them seem more fair.

Oh for gob's sake. Please don't do that.

Has anyone seen "mind trickster" and entertainer Derren Brown?
He gets a random (hoho) selection of people from the audience. One set (say 10 groups) spins a coin and writes down Heads, Tails etc. for 15 spins.

The other 10 groups write how they think the coin would drop H,T etc for 15 turns.

Guess what?? - he can 90% tell which group span a real coin and which group gave "random" answers on behalf of the coin.

Gosh - I wonder how he does it?

Magic?

Lack - I have read through all those posts regarding psychology and I agree with it in general. But that's not what is happening in my case. I acknowledge that I have had good dice streaks. But I have had far longer and more consistent bad streaks - BY FAR!!!!!

I have used the dice analyzer stats tool and have proven my point to myself - that I'm getting screwed more often than not. I just played a game where the defence rolled about 50% 6's. That's an extreme case but it happens often enough. I am down now 600 points in the past short while - AGAIN.

I understand that you are conscientious about the whole thing and proactive in trying to help the site and people understand. I have a lot of respect for the effort you have put into this. I can tell you though that my dice absolutely do not fall into the categories that that tool they are supposed to. Last time I used it I was up to 25-30000 rolls or so.

So all that aside, because there is nothing you can really do about the dice apparently, there is something you can do to help people from freefalling ranks based on ridiculously bad dice. Allow an option so players can limit or restrict a rank that can join a game. Tonight alone I lost 78 points in 2 games to low ranked players - both had almost perfect dice to my brutal dice. Strategy was completely out of the question - especially when one was dropped a bonus too.

Anyway - lots of people have voiced concerns that the bad streaks outlast the good ones and the bad ones are far more consistent. If you could at least allow higher ranks to limit games by restricting ranks you could alleviate the freefalls we have all experienced.

It is funny how, when you play a really high ranked player - the dice seem to be on their side the entire game.

It's funny how you've mistaken "their higher chances of luck" with "strategy."

But then again... maybe those high rankers know something we don't... TIN FOIL HATS: ACTIVEATE!

almost every f'ing game I have played today has been bullshit lopsided. By lopsided I mean my opponent plays - perfect dice ... I play - defence rolls 3-4 6's. Pretty much game over. Oh but wait .. my opponent then rolls - yup you guessed it ... perfect dice ... me? I MIGHT take a territory 2nd or 3rd turn.

Either that or I AM ON the winning side of that ... what kind of boring shit is that to play? no fun at all ... most of my games have not lasted past the 6th round. Random dice my ass ... take a look at my dice analyzer for all the proof you need that its bs.

Hm, I always wonder where are the people who are getting good dice/intensity cubes hiding then...the presence of absence is striking.

Well, actually, I stole a few myself. I just keep my rank on the down-low so no one points a finger at me.

1. If you attack twice and the enemy is getting those dice, stop attacking (NEVER use auto-attack. It will only screw you.) It's better to wait and do all your attacking when the dice are going well (or at least not as shitty). The dice tend to be streaky sometimes (in my experience) so you need to take advantage of that fact.
2. Consider playing a different style of game. If you only play 1v1 try an 8 player escalating or vice versa. Try a team game so if your dice are crap maybe your partner(s) won't be. If your getting crappy dice you might as well learn to play a different style of game just to keep it interesting.
3. It's a GAME. Would you be bitching at all if there was no ranking system on the site? Do you bitch and moan constantly when you get crappy dice in real life? Worry less about your score and crappy dice will piss you off less (i know it's still annoying, but as you should already be able to tell your bitching isn't going to change anything).

Well, Donkeymile, maybe you should stop playing games that are totally based on luck and try games that require skill. Perhaps dice will play less of a role if you aren't playing 1v1 sequential on luxembourg... seriously, are you TRYING to win a 1v1 only 50% of the time? Geez...

I've been playing a lot of 1v1 lately because my wife is expecting a child and is due in the near future ... but I love this game and this site and I want to keep playing - so I play 1v1 on a small map so I know I will finish it.

I did much better in other styles of games - and I miss it too - however, it still doesn't explain how the dice are consistently worse than they are good. And it doesn't explain why the vast majority of the games are lopsided.

I'm not only complaining because I've lost badly - but also because I've won the same way. What I'm getting at is that it's no fun to win or lose that way ... I prefer to play a real battle strategy kind of a game then to win some blowout without even thinking about what I need to do.

I can't wait to be able to get back into some bigger games. So yes - the score/rank does bother me but not too much because that can be fixed, and it is a game. What bugs me is the lopsided nature of so many of these games ... and the fact that they aren't fun to play because generally after a turn or 2 the game is decided due to such a discrepancy in the dice and the opponents.

The answer is not to play those types of games - ok - but it still doesn't explain why the pattern is that one player gets great dice and the other gets brutal dice and it's almost never anywhere in the middle. I truly enjoy those games when it is in the middle - and that's what keeps me coming back because then strategy DOES matter for once.

I'd publish the dice analyzer stats to prove it but something tells me you aren't worth the time.

Care to elaborate?

My dice have been shit and I have lost points from Major to almost a striper, but at least now n00bs won't head hunt me in most games and I get to look forward of taking some major points off high ranks again. :D When a forest burn sometimes new plants are formed. Maybe you should too.

Yeah. I've seen a bunch of us in the last four days take a dive point wise.

I think it is because of the Moon. I've always hated the Moon. It is scary with all It's power to move oceans. What the hell should have the power to move oceans for crying out loud?!?!

It is the Moon's fault.

Otherwise, to the original poster, we ALL feel your pain. We all do. But as a CC friend told me yesterday, and I paraphrase: Elf, get a grip dude.

I bet you'll be okay in time.
