i saw this on another forum and decided to post it here, for the following reasons

-oh my god
-holy shit
-what the f*ck i mean seriously, what. the. f*ck.

basically this is a blog by two women who adopted a troubled child and now apparently hate her. the authors painstakingly detail the capricious, cruel, and uncaring way they treat the adopted child, all while painting themselves as the victims. it is insane -- and i mean actually, certifiably insane. here are some choice quotes:

"perhaps she ought to make good on her frequent threat to go live with her birth family. Perhaps she'll find that environment more to her liking."

"When Danielle came home at nearly bedtime, she looked like a whore. Her eyebrows had been plucked and she had way too much makeup on her face." (emphasis hers)

"Just because I specifically asked for responsibility over this mentally damaged and heavily abused child doesn't mean I OWE her anything more than the legal bare minimum of care to not be considered abuse. She should have thought about being thrown out in the cold on her 18th birthday when she refused to do the dishes."

the comments on the blog are moderated (of course), but i or someone else may be setting up a website for people to freely make comments to these awful human beings where the whole world can see them, and where they can't take them down.

also anyone who can do enough sleuthing to figure out where they live, that would be awesome, because this blog is basically a real-time record of ongoing child abuse and they really needs to be reported to the proper authorities

BUT, I will say anyone who has the ability really ought to try becoming a foster parent. Kids get placed in bad homes because there are no other options.

...and ability just means a willingness to care about kids, plus the room in your house to do it. (check with your state on details)

No, this is not something you should already know. Most people don't. I don't know the full process myself. For one thing, it can vary highly depending on the area. It also depends on the length of care, etc.

EDIT: Here are the criteria I got from a PA Foster Care site:
Be at least 21 years of age.
Pass a medical examination that states the individual is physically able to care for children and is free from communicable disease.
Pass screening requirements related to child abuse and criminal history clearances.

along with this statement:
The agency will also consider other matters such as parent/child relationships; how the applicant can meet the special needs of children placed in the home; and number and characteristics of children best suited for the foster family. The foster family residence must meet certain minimal requirements. Regulated requirements can be located in Title 55 Pa. Code Chapter 3700 (Foster Family Care Agency).

Things like this cannot be caught in an interview, they require visitation from a social service worker. In many larger cities, Social Workers have so many kids they are supposed to track it is not possible to even meet them all, never mind do any real tracking.

because they did not spawn the child they cannot feel the natural affection a parent does. Also...they are by nature not normal themselves so they cant understand anything about loveing and caring for a child that might not appreciate them until later
