You know, I really enjoyed the movie, and all my friends told me I had to watch it, one even went to watch it again to the theater with me, but I'm not sure if it's a candidate for a top 20 (you guys will vote anyways). Maybe in a top 40? well you guys have stopped voting and there's a tie.
Besides, after watching Dumb & Dumber a long time ago, Jim Carey makes me laugh even though he's playing a serious role. It has an extra bonus tho, Kirsten Dunst is in it.
Tonight I'll probably watch The Goodbye girl.

That says a lot right there! This debate will be forever stuck without a definitive voting system.
IF you consider 'The Wall' a movie, it could definitely make the list.
I haven't seen Fight Club on a list in 2 pages. It's the #1 most commonly favourited movie on facebook. Even though we are grown-ups, many Disney movies should also be powerful contenders.
Also there is no definition for 'best' leaving more avante-garde movies behind the curtain in favor of block-busters, especially leaning towards newer films. The Dark Knight top ten ever!?

The Wall, the album?
has been a movie adapted from it? it would be interesting.

Re: This Forum Needs a Top Ten Movies Thread
Fight Club is OK! Very very average. It has its moments of brilliance. It also has its moments of crap. 20 or 30 years from now nobody under the age of 30 will give a crap about Fight Club or will even have heard of it. It's like alot of movies of the last 11 years, they're not as crappy as most of the movies released. In other words, it's the least crappy of the crappy. So, because its somewhat contemporary, people get it worked up in their minds that its great when if you size it up against the great movies pre 1999 it isn't worth a damn. (There aren't people on this site mentioning fight club because the main producer of the movie was the key player in my script getting ripped off? I said back in 06 that'll get worked out in arbitration. Basically stupid and Co. can release their version of the film a year after my version hits the theaters and I just want a screen credit that says Story Stolen By Morons From The Brilliant Writer ...... (My Name There).
Re: This Forum Needs a Top Ten Movies Thread
Fight Club is only good the first 2 times you watch it.
I watched The Goodbye Girl and wasn't very impressed. Maybe it's in the hearts of many because represents the optimism of the 80s?
Who knows, not in my top 20, not in my top 40.

Yeah! Snatch! I like all Guy Ritchie's movies. Snatch is better that Fight Club IMO.

That's what I thought !
I think Snatch is Guy Ritchies best movie, although Lock Stock and the Two Smoking Barrels is pretty good to !
Re: This Forum Needs a Top Ten Movies Thread
Last night I watched Scarface, a movie I don't know why I hadn't watched. I should've done it before, I'm sure I would have enjoyed more.
It has great acting by Pacino no doubt, great direction, great screenplay. The treatment of the "person" instead of only treating the drug trafficker is also great.
I was suffering while watching the movie, you probably know the actual crisis Mexico is in, so I have a fucking hate for these kind of guys, no matter if they have psychological problems as well.
The lion in this movie might be (I'm guessing here) the cause why these idiots collect all sort of wild animals, always on a leash, and feed poorly. That makes me angry. It goes beyond that, I feel very bad for those animals.
Other than that, it possibly goes in a top 20.

this is the last day of the poll.
after this I'll try to gather up the movies you guys think must go in the top X and then I will ask for a modification on the number of options for a poll if it's necessary, so that we can decide the spots.
i think it'll be a pita trying to convince a mod programmer, although im pretty sure is just a change of a constant.

How about we all go toss each other off instead? That would be more profitable than this stupid thread. It's quite obvious that you can't choose a top "however many" movies thread as millions of people have millions of different views/opinions/tastes/etc. and this is just a waste of our God given time. I regret even entertaining this thread.

I'm just saying that 74% would prefer a different format.
Maybe you should run a poll where people can vote on what format they DON'T want until only one is left.

well, MeDeFe threatened me with a forum ban if I didn't start another poll with the most voted options of the last poll.
So a new poll is on. I promise that after this one, we'll make the list.
