If you've moved army circles, you'll need to update the XML too.

Once that's been done, please could you post the latest images and XML as [url] links. Cheers ;-)

I like the idea a lot. But i do think you should lower the bonus troops you get from territories. Like the Republicans get 4 troops for only 4 territories. I think it should be 2. Just lower the bonus troops by 1 or 2 for most of the territories.

It will stay at 4 because look at how many territories it borders. It may have 4 territories but it has 7 territories that border it, thus making it hard to hold. All the bonuses will stay as they are unless the majority says they are too high.

Those files have been up for almost a week now; is there anything else that warrants further discussion?

Love this map (just had to say that) might be my favorite.

Would it be possible to lighten Ohio further? During a game it is still dark enough due to all the borders that it can be misinterpreted to belong to the bonus to the left.

Thank you! I am happy to hear that it might your favorite map. As far as Ohio goes, it looks okay to me but if others feel the same way then yes I can lighten it up a bit.

I agree. Even after finishing the game I was still not sure which bonus Ohio belonged to. As a Buckeye I made sure to hold onto it, but at no point did I have just one side and not parts of the other, so I'm honestly still not confident I know which zone it was a part of.

Due to poplar demand - well okay only two people mentioned it - I have reduced the inside glow for the Democrat bonus so that it is hopefully clearer.

No XML changes this update.

so me + 1 = popular demand... awesome ;) lol

Seriously though, I think it looks just as good, and is clearer, so I think it's an improvement.

I'm really liking the map, and having a blast playing it in quads. Only concern I have is that I don't see anyway in hell of the capitals bonus coming into play in quads or triples- 7 is already half the map. Seems like that would only be a viable bonus in FFAs with 5 or less, or doubles.

Even then, the way that the bonus is structured seems like it would lend itself to an exponential tipping point.

But here it is in final forge, so better minds than I have probably thought on it.

Thank you, I'm glad that you are enjoying this map! :D

Your right the capitals don't come into play in quads. Actually, I haven't really seen the capitals come into play in a lot of the games until the close to the end. I have played a few games on it myself (along with watching other games) I have found that the bonus system is working out a whole lot better than I thought it would. No one really runs away with getting a lot of bonus men until close to the end. I have seen others have a fighting chance right up to the end. :D

I've been meaning to request this for some time, but I have just added the following text to the guidelines for the Forge:
While the map is nearing the end of the Beta phase, the mapmaker(s) will be asked to populate the Map Portal Database.

I'd be grateful if you (or your representative) could oblige, and also notify in this thread once it's done ;-)

It's done and hopefully it's done correctly.
