Finish the Eastern Front map. It's much more interesting than an Iwo Jima map.

well take it out of vacation early i have a feeling that if you get involved in another map the eastern front will get forgotten.

I don't think Iwo Jima lends itself to a great map just because of the shape of the island. Either way, you should just finish Eastern Front before worrying about this one.

I agree with Keyogi. Doesn't look too promising. Finish the eastern front map.

christ, guys, give him a break. I want to play on the eastern front map too, but if he doesn't want to work on it right now, that's his call. And if he wants to work on a fresh project rather than go back to centering army circles and doing border touch-ups, then let's try and get on board the new project and hope that at some point he gets the urge to finish eastern front.

However, qwert, I'm not sure iwo jima is the best option here. One cool thing you could do is a map based on Operation Olympic, the plan for the massive invasion of southern Kyushu that didn't end up going off because of the a-bombs. You'll be able to do much of the same thing... I dunno, I just think iwo jima isn't really all that great-looking of an island.

I know how demanding the foundry can be and maybe Qwert lost some interest and motivation in the Eastern Front map which I hope he finishes eventually because I want to play it and I am particularly interested in it.

However Iwo Jima doesn't seem exciting to me. Why don't you make a map of the Russo-Japanese war of the early 1900s? That would include the Vladivostok and Russia's Far East area and parts of Japan and China.

But if you decide to pursue the Iwo Jima map it's your call at the end of the day so good luck.

it was only a matter of time till this was suggested. it will b very hard and i'm wondering if its not one of those pointless themes that don't add anything to the map but only make it harder for the mapmaker.

it's just too small of an area, Iwo Jima wouldn't really be good for me at all...

battle of midway would be much better (biggest aero naval battle in history), but then... the island is even smaller. I recommend, if you want to do another ww2 map, then it be the battle of the bulge.

The problem with world war two maps, the battle very rarely gets to two opposing sides on each side of the map, it doesn't represent the war at all, In my opinion I think actual battles are left to stategy games, I wouldn't play a battle on risk, as it doesn't represent a proper battle at all...

risk more represents struggles for power of countries way back in history, for examples the tribes of africa, or tribes of italy. not two sides against eachother.

This map just wouldn't interest me one bit.... :? :(
