Any given Sunday
For those of you who care. Who Dat, baby. Anyone who is a Favre fan is a fan of any other true American traitor, kinda like Benedict Arnold, trading his yellow and green for purple. Well I ware none of those colors and the road to Miami is paved in black & gold bricks.
"Our Breesus who art in Nawlins, hallowed be thy name. Thy bowl will come; it will be won, in Miami as it is in the dome. Give us this Sunday, our weekly win. Give us touchdown passes, but do not let others pass against us. Lead us not into frustration, but deliver us to the Super Bowl. For thine... Is the MVP..... The ..."
"Colston, Shockey, Vilma, Bush & Brees-- Sharper, Greer, Pierre if you please-- Sunday the Vikes come to the Dome-- They know our weapons AND THIS IS OUR HOME-- The scene is set , the story yet to be told-- But I know this, the Road to Miami is paved in Black & Gold-- WHO DAT!!!! Geaux Saints!"
"twas the hours before the playoffs and the fans are gettin crunk, all the people in the Kiln at the broke spoke were gettin drunk, The jerseys were worn by the fans with care with hopes that Drew Brees would put some balls in the air. Go Thomas, go Colston, go harper, go Bush! Lets Rally together and kick some VIKING TUSH! Who Dat! Geaux Saints! woohoooo. "

Brees used to wear lightning bolts on his helmet, Shockey has a Super Bowl win with the Giants
and Farve is a man who loves the game of football... and grew up a Saints fan.
I'll be pulling for the SAINTS to win their first NFL Championship in Miami
and sure hope they play better there than they did in the Dome last Sunday.
The Vikings turned the ball over 5 times and the Saints still needed OT to squeeze past 'em.

Neither San Diego or the Giants are rivals of the Saints. Atlanta is a huge rival now. When we were in NFC West it was San Fran, so its not like Farve's move to the hated enemy.
Re: Any given Sunday
I'm sorta obligated to root for the Colts, though I like what the team is doing for the city. I'm pretty much just hoping it's a good game.

One of the things that has always surprised me about American sports fans is that you don't sing songs at sports events. In the UK it just wouldn't be right if you didn't sing at a football match (unless you're an Arsenal fan).
Of the two songs I know you sing, there is the imaginative "U-S-A" sang at the olympics. The other is "Who dat team gonna beat the saints? Who dat, who dat?" A song so devoid of everything that it means I'll be cheering on the colts. You'd have to be playing the cowboys for me to support you!

Is that actually sung at the ground though? Sounds more like an team anthem then a terrace song.

It is. I've had a chance to sing it at the stadium on many occasions.
Here's a sample - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrmqFcMtA2s
In the past, the music was not played through the stadium speakers. Instead the fans would just start singing after a touchdown.
We also tend to do the E-A-G-L-E-S chant during games, but also after games, before games, during other sports' games, etc.
Re: Any given Sunday
Fair enough, but I still think that football matches in Europe have a better atmosphere and more singing then in the USA.
Also, did you read that the largest amount of foreigners going to the 2010 WC in from the USA, with the UK in second. But something like 75% of the tickets have been bought by South Africans as the amount of foreigners going is less then 50% of FIFA's estimate.

I would agree with you 100% on that.

Yes, but you also have the hooligans, so that's pretty much a "push".

Couldn't agree more I saw Celtic play Ajax in '01 in Amsterdam for a Champions League spot and the atmosphere was excellent. World Cup will always have mostly locals because, lets face it, if you look at all World Cups they have always had fewer people travel and had to rely on locals. Read Soccernomics. As fars as supporting another team cause you dont like who dat. Well, Who dat goes way back in history so it is the closes thing to songs song by supporters in Europe. The NFL is trying to say they own who dat so that is another reason why you should support the saints f*ck the NFL
Re: Any given Sunday
The Saints have also found a way to beat the shit out of QBs without getting any sacks and without getting called for roughing the Brady. Should this be called roughing the Favre? Should this be banned too?

Re: Any given Sunday
NFL fans definitely don't sing so much at games, but the atmosphere is still great
and in some stadiums the crowd noise is similar to standing on the runway as a jet
takes off. The sound level generated is a big part of home field advantage.
Go to a Washington Redskins game and you will hear their fight song...
and of course the Na na na na Hey hey hey... Goodbye at the end.
